I've been working on a #gamejam turned proof of concept demo with @lonelygiantstudios.bsky.social for a palaeontology game! You play as a PhD student going out on their first solo dig. It's been so fun to develop the characters, dialogue & #narrativedesign

It's frustrating but that time watching Let's Plays and letting myself recover with one thing a day, was really the best thing I could do for myself. If only I could listen to this advice in the moment and not guilt myself the whole time.

Coming out of burnout after months of being in a complete malaise, where doing the smallest thing took a whole day and all I could do was watch Let's Plays, is like breaking the surface to find you swam to where you put your feet down without realising.

My dad read me them all when I was a kid, and he even named our sail dingy "Look Far" after Sparrowhawk's boat. I would love to reread them but they remind me so much of him, it's a bit too painful to do.

It's okay. I also feel like this XD E33 is a game that made me feel like I was mad for not liking it but shrug, I guess it's good we all like different things.

Some examples of the folliate heads found in St Edith's church, Eaton under Heywood, Shropshire. Aren't they wonderful?

The Nave roof dates from the 15th century and the chancel roof about 1600. This is such a remarkable church!

Omgosh! That's quite dramatic. I always find other authors' critique helpful, and I can't imagine what you would say to have it removed. Maybe sometimes people aren't open to it?
