A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies — including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought — are not able to apply for direct relief.

The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."

The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.

A peer reviewed study shows a promising link between flu and shingles vaccines and a reduced risk of dementia. A heroin addict who cut off a raccoon’s penis for “further study” says these vaccines cause autism. For busy Americans, it can be hard to know who to trust.

This kind of confusion about when a significant event happened is extremely familiar to me, a child of a person who has been diagnosed with both vascular dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

I study racism for a living and can still manage to be shocked by how institutionalized it is. What do you mean they were giving tax-breaks to white supremacists celebrating treason?

just a wild country

It's wild that American Republicans see millions of people attending No Kings rallies and assume, with no evidence, that they're all being paid...and then some grandma who has literally lobbied for DoorDash delivers to the White House with the *cameras rolling* & they think it's an adorable moment.

the white house has a navy kitchen ("the white house mess") which is on call 24 hours a day. trump has an entire legion of staffers whose job duties include bringing him mcdonalds burgers on command because apparently having on call chefs isn't enough. this was 100% a political stunt by doordash.

The Pope is the only public figure who commands equal or more press to the President of the United States. The current Pope, as you know, is a nice man from Chicago who likes baseball, candy, and being good to the poor. He is prepared to use the resources at his command. It is different.
