When I was in USN, was always told they served the highest quality meats.
They may have been allocated funds for that good stuff, but what we were served was hardly edible.
We always suspected the buyers were taking their cut under the table.
I was in the Navy from 1972 until 1976. Much of the time the food was pretty bad, but not as bad as this.
I was never on a ship. My experience was on Naval Air Stations and the food was not consistent.
Boot camp was the worst. NAS Glynco was excellent. NAS Key West was good sometimes. GITMO sucked
