Congratulations! So many people don't realize the amount of slavery in our state and that is shameful.
It is an amazingly funny book.
I was 43 when I had mine. It was a blow to the ego, for sure. I'm sorry that you feel badly about, those commenta do sting.
Look up Jella Lepman. A Jewish refugee from the Nazis who was hired by the US Army to work on rehabilitating German women and children. Her work, with children using literature as a bridge and the organizations she founded have a giant, unrecognized legacy: IBBY, Int'l Childrens Library and more.
Is this for sale?
Yeet them and take back the space for things you do want.
Thanks for sharing such an uplifting and wonderful post. And congrats to your amazing little fighter.
"Every book you read helps you build a richer picture of the entire world."
Indeed.
What age range is this for?
Man, my pre-coffee spelling stinks. Sorry about that.

Why do I feel like the headline in today's NY Times will be praising the administration for its new reef construction initiative?
LSTA, the funding mechanism for federal.aid to libraries, archives, and museums comes up for renewal every 20 years. This August, Congress needs to reauthorize the act or it will expire and with it, the funding.
There were at least 2 discussions about boys and their needs in the literary landscape at the Bologna Book Fair this year. It's coming but we need it to pick up speed.
Pop culture doesn't give boys a lot of good role models. If you can't save the world or the princess, are you in the story at all as anything other than the butt of the joke? Girl power needs a boy equivalent, regardless if the patriarchy which hurts everyone.
They also need to stoke their curiosity and build their stamina for what it takes to quench it.

That is awesome. My grandparents used to buy Brookdale soda. I'm not sure if it was a thing local to them or more widespread but they would go to the distribution center and buy a case of those glass liters, mixing the flavors in the case as they liked.
I'm interested to see the approach it takes.
Two last things, one is that the number of people pulling for the US to course correct in spite of ourselves was unexpected. Second is, how inspired I am by the incredible amount of young illustrator talent in attendance. Mind blown.
...what it means to be a man, what society expects and accepts from and for men and I hope that this will give boys alternatives beyond some.if the toxicity we see in the manosphere. One book mentioned was about boys going into the cating professions-teaching, nursing, and the like.
The focus of the panels I sat in the audience for were very explicit that this isn't something that should come at the expense of girls or women but, rather, in compliment to. I have mixed feelings about if I trust that will not be the outcome or approach. I do see a lack of vision for...
Boys need these sorts of books now, too. They need to find inspirational role models.for their futures in the way that have been so successful for women. It seems odd because, patriarchy. But as a mother to a young boy, I see the need.
