starting to happen in the UK is giving me hope for our future as well, even if their party system is much more comprehensive.
The only other option for major, lasting change, as I see it, is a more drastic one that will probably happen anyway... Even if it would be nicer if that didn't happen.
I'm doing something, even if it will take a long time for anything to actually happen. The quick fixes don't work; the only thing left is something more systemic. I hope others will do the same so the message is received within one voting cycle, especially in one of the largest blocs. What is...
amount of voters refuse to participate in their greed. After 2016, I was appalled. But after 2020 and 2024? They've completely lost my, and I hope many others', trust. I feel the only consequences they will fear are the ones they claim to be beholden to: voters.
So, I re-registered Green.
No, I'm just tired of living in a false two-party system designed by its wealthiest members to conveniently list further rightward every year.
I don't care if it's "throwing away my vote"; the consequences would likely not be worse than Newsom. Furthermore, the DNC needs to see that a substantial...
You could vote Ware or Robinson instead! The Democratic party is a conservative, corporate mouthpiece these days.
BASEBALL YURI (1/5)
but you HAVE to talk about the music!!!!!!!!! it's soooo good!
I just love languages in general β every one is so beautiful and unique!
Except English. Yep, I hate myself and the English-speaking patriarchy.
8-1. would love to hear the democratic party dead-enders spin this one for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The reason my website's robots.txt is a full wildcard, is because I'm not proud of the current state of it, and there's really nothing there right now. That's completely different from not wanting the unwashed masses to be able to read your "sophisticated content" without a paywall.
Ironic that he bit the hand that fed him! America is one of the countries most reliant on oil.
And I wouldn't call it arrogance, exactly...
She won't. She somehow has "deep respect" for altman and is "proud" of their work together.

There's a beautiful speech Cory Doctorow gave at 39C3 a few weeks ago about anti-circumvention law being a fundamental part of the US trade agreements around the world and that given the orange menace has violated all those agreements, the restrictions US placed should be void as well.
I'd argue that Clute is trying to position "cruelty" as oppositional to the status quo of milquetoast reviews, and rather than cruelty, uncompromising intellectual conversation. That's difficult for our emotional species, and misrepresenting this as cruelty is perhaps more bluntly effective.
Oh hey! I have a second brain too! It's a series of notebooks and index cards I wrote in pen and sometimes digitize into Obsidian so I can use full text search and relational database features.
Alternatively, see @dynamicland.org.
Just registered to vote with @cagreens.bsky.social. Anythings better than voting Democrat β especially given Sean Dougherty running for the House.
Of course, this is assuming I'm still allowed to exist for the next four years.
I'm changing my opinion on Generative ML. Instead of "Butlerian Jihad," I'm now on "That was cute (derogatory). Let's go back to the research lab and stop abusing people!"
The article was actually a lot more in-depth, mostly going into issues with quality results (Quorum) requiring expensive printers, and US insurance companies refusing to bill for 3d printed limbs (TrueLimb) because they are too cheap -- even at $7000. It's worth a read!
It's too late for me. I'm already designing a writing desk.
Got a brush pen and disposable fountain pen from @jetpens.com β turns out I like the fountain pen! Probably going to get a LAMY safari in my next order?
The brush is for writing νκΈ, but it's much much harder to control. The fountain pen is too. Time to work on my handwriting!
Uncut 9" round 3 layer pumpkin cake covered with sheer blackberry mascarpone frosting. I put a lot of effort into making it smooth and nice looking. There are pumpkin frosting shells around the base, and little frosted pumpkins decorated with mini chocolate chips as the tiny stem. There are 14 blackberries with their stems facing the cake placed somewhat evenly around the top edge. The cake is on a table outside with lavender and salvia bushes encroaching on the path in the background.

Made a pumpkin cake with blackberry mascarpone frosting! It's really delicious; I took the recipes from different places and I'll put it on my website... eventually. #CakeSky π°
The reason this is important is because Bluesky PBLLC is explicitly stating that anyone can host their own copy of their infrastructure, interoperable with theirs, just without their truly awful moderation.
Why would you talk to a human you love when you could Poste about it instead?
Will this keep happening forever? I think that while Odysee is theoretically better than YT, it's making things too convoluted. Let's just stick to PeerTube for now, despite the failings of ActivityPub.
AFAICT, there aren't any plans for what will happen after the 20 year PoW mining phase. The entire LBRY blockchain seems to, ironically, rely on economic incentives to keep it sustainable. Will there be a new epoch in 10 years, leaving the current chain eternalized and hosted traditionally?
