Probably a bit of conflation between "plot" and "story" happening. If the bullet point list of "plot" isn't sufficiently long or interesting looking, it must necessarily follow that the story isn't good. Not true obv., but that's the sense I get from online conversations a lot of the time.

I feel like some people have fallen into this trap of believing that for a story to be good, many crazy things must happen. But you can make really mundane-sounding things interesting through good character work/setting.

12 Angry Men is a great classic example of this. It's just guys arguing!

The one that came out on the 360 is The Last Hope, and it is not only the worst one, but also kinda led to the series going dormant for a while.

That's why I said that, not because I have any aversion to the 360 or anything

I am not mad that you haven't played it, but I do resent that specific comparison lmao

Between BWT being able to raise the necessary funds to cover dev costs and Kotaku's outstanding and ongoing revival, I feel much more hopeful about games journalism and its future.

Really cool few days

Donate To Help Sever Migration Costs

UPDATE: After a day of retaliatory action by our old host, our new dev has the path mostly cleared right now.

We are deeply thankful for all of the support, whether you donated or boosted, it means a lot. We have raised just under $1,700, which is almost half of our costs. 🫶🏽

Dog somehow found a battery and bit into it. Caught it pretty quick, but it definitely released a smell.

Not really sure how long I'm supposed to air the room out before I can go back in

While I have no doubt this is something they point to as justification for their harassment, I do feel like it's almost entirely based upon the aesthetics.

Like the old-timey style speaks to their "retvrn" mindset so it must be good and a thing that is "for them." Appropriation is unrelated to msg

please support @butwhytho.net --- ! they were put into an extremely unfair situation by their previous dev and need to raise funds to recoup the cost. they're one of the most well-rounded sites in terms of pop culture coverage and do some great work. especially when it comes to CN and KR games!

Please help them out, if you can! The team at But Why Tho? does great work and could use the support.

The artists is vulnerable, they take the risk, they are exposing themselves to the world, the organisation risks nothing, and acts to protect only themselves.

See here a reflection of our entire industry.

I wonder if part of why Krile was named by anyone in the poll at all was simply because it was you running the poll LOL

She's definitely more top of mind for me since her inclusion in Dissidia Duellum. Not sure I would have named her before, like, 100 other characters.
