TL:DR light bulbs are stupid, I’m exceptionally unaware and fuck trump

Just for clarity, I can change a light bulb. But NO ONE KNEW WHAT THIS WAS! AND I DID NOT KNOW I HAD A DIMMER!!! 10 YEARS!!!!

Turns out the ceiling fan I have had in my bedroom for more than 10 years has a dimmer switch that no one has ever noticed, that I must have activated over a week ago, and somehow rediscovered today!! I am so fucking 🤯🤣

I go home, go online. Find the light bulb at my local Canadian tire! (Shoulda done that first, yes I know now thanks!) Go pick up light bulb at lunch today. Get home, change it out. Turn on light? No brighter!!!! Must be the wiring right?
Nope!

He says, “let’s go to Home Depot” sure,
We’re not fans (trumper owner) but my dad says Canadian tire has no light bulb selection.. this is a light bulb that my dad, evidently the Home Depot employees or I have ever seen before. So nope

So my ceiling light stopped working and it wasn’t totally burnt out, just really dim, so I assumed the bulb was dying. So I took it out and spent a week nursing the burn I got bc I forgot it would be hot.
And then started looking for a replacement by asking my dad
