Arsenal 1989 is remarkably similar
Leading the league and been the best team for vast majority of season
Get one point over 2 home games versus derby/wimbledon ( including a goal by a forgotten Dubliner called Paul Mcgee)
Given zero chance at Anfield
Cue michael thomas

Perfectly suits my mood.
Hats off to @amylawrence.bsky.social for her song choice on this weeks Handbrake Off; www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmEN...
I'm guessing it's The Lions?
Im going to be in Paris this coming weekend and I was wondering if anyone knows a good bar or pub to watch Arsenal v City?
Dear @orbinho.bsky.social - thanking for the years of statistical contextual enlightenment.
May your days be filled with Arsenal victories forever more.
I don't think Arteta struggles to identify problems at all. I think he knows exactly the limits of his squad and what his options are.
I don't think it's that deep.
I don't think there's a chance in hell that he will walk. He wants to win and he has the support of the board and the owners.
I just don't think what's happening is that deep.
Saka
Odegaard
Timber
Merino
Califiori
Hincapie
Arguably all starters. All injured.
Arsenal had 3 days recovery before facing Bournemouth.
Bournemouth had 22 days since their last match.

Point being... Arteta has shown us he can manage a potent attacking Arsenal team. He's done it.
Martin Ødegaard: Reached elite levels in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, leading the team in chances created and developing into one of the league's top attacking midfielders.
But he's been crooked by injury last season and this season.
It's clear to me Kai Havertz flourished under Arteta. 20 goal contributions that season.
91 scored in 38 Premier League matches, a club record in the Premier League era.
The side averaged 2.39 goals per game, with standout attacking contributors like Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, and Martin Ødegaard.
Based on attacking output, goal-scoring records, and overall performance, the best attacking season for Arsenal in the Premier League era was our 2023/24 campaign under Arteta.
I've been reflecting on Arsenal v Bournemouth, & Arteta's pre-game rally to supporters. I suspect he knew the team would require lifting. That they would need the energy of the crowd. He's a very clever manager & I think he knows we are running on empty & he's trying everything to lift the team.
Gunnersaurus is just a bit nervous in the face of greatness.
Eze, Max and Trossard the finishers!
We are witnessing an historic season. Do you feel it? I do. I love this club and the journey we have travelled. Let's go Arsenal.
Arsenal Match day. It's a 9.30pm kick off time in Melbourne, Australia. Can not wait! Lets put all of the pain of the last 3 seasons into this run in.
You heard the man:
BRING
YOUR
FUCKING
DINNER
Let’s get it crackin
I heard @clivepafc.bsky.social mention he felt like he was merely existing between each Arsenal match kick off and I thought - YES that's exactly how I feel. 🙏🏽❤️⚽️🏆
Mikel Arteta on Arsenal after beating Sporting CP,;
"It's time for Arsenal to reveal themselves".
Player of the season.
Arsenal with David Raya are winners.
He's the best keeper Arsenal have had since David Seaman.
It's my new favorite move. I'm going to do this all day at the office and see if anyone notices.
That burst of acceleration. That run. Then the pass to find Havertz. Then the finish. Martinelli for Arsenal - Bravo.
Arsenal to win 3 nil. ⚽️⚽️⚽️❤️
