No. We must not stand for that. Citizenship is permanent and not dependent on a person’s belief system. The only cases were denaturalization should be considered is if it was revealed the person lied on their immigration documents. If not, then they’re a citizen for life.

I work here!
The walled city that is “Jackson” is actually Canmore, Alberta.
Fun fact! Season 1 was filmed here in Calgary, Alberta. When they’re on (what was once) a university campus in Colorado— that was filmed here at MRU.
My home country is no longer a democracy (to the extent it ever really was). It's impossible to fight back against fascism using the old rules and procedures. They don't apply anymore. Not sure when people will realize this.
She can just decline. Or she can sit there and lie. There's no way to hold her, DJT, or anyone else accountable. Not sure when people will realize it is not a democracy anymore. The old rules don't apply.
I am so deeply uninterested in AI. Just think of all the 🤩 stories that aren't being covered by journalists, the worthy projects that aren't being funded, the institutional challenges that aren't being addressed by uni administrators — bc their 👀 are all focused on this dumb product nobody asked for
This is happening right now here in Alberta with government efforts to pull any books that mentions sex or sexuality. To do the “public engagement” they are distributing this survey. Have a look at how awful and slanted the questions are:

Super hypocritical. Vance has called professors “the enemy”— yet it was his professor at Yale, Amy Chua, who mentored him and encouraged him to write his shitty book. He would not be where he is now without her and without Yale.
Someone better remind AI what snitches get.

Yes it is!!!!
Super happy and proud to report that my student, Connie Yu, has won the student paper competition at the @hazcenter.bsky.social at the University of Colorado! She’s the 4th @mountroyalu.bsky.social student to win it in 14 years— an impressive run for MRU disaster students! Congrats, Connie!
At shit-talking, yes.
At citations, I mean… you’re ahead by two. 😉
WTF!? How did you do that??? Glad I took a screen capture when I did! Geez...
My best friend and cherished coauthor, @kristenbarberphd.bsky.social and I often joke about living the same life, and having most everything in common. As evidence, I offer you our citation counts (15 years into our careers). Pretty wild, eh? #Twinning
Corporate leaders are obsessing over GDP per capita.
But, if you look at just about any number that would meaningfully tell you how well our economy is doing, Canada does better than the U.S.

Everyone must. I mean, look at the case of the white Canadian lady who was detained at the border entering the United States, put it in an ICE detention facility where she slept in a crowded cell on the floor, and released 12 days later with no explanation. Why would anyone visit the United States?
Pretty much sums up MAGA — and really, America— in a nutshell: “I’m cool with all these drastic cuts to things I don’t understand or know about. If I don’t know about something, it must not be important.”
They’re metric mice, so you only get 2/3 of a mouse. And also Francophone.
Also when the loonie is low, it means your equity in your US home goes further in buying Canadian property. Even if you’re earning a bit less, you’ll save on housing.
Lots of mid/sr people would do better in the US than Canada— possibly including me. But there’s something to be said for planting your flag, living according to your principles, and leaving the US behind. As long as you earn enough to live on, it’s all good. I’d not go back for a $1 million salary.
Jessica Kaufman needs to be held responsible for this. As much as the Trump White House is to blame, so are the minions who are willing to carry out his marching orders.
By the time the next presidential election happens, most universities won’t have any sociology left. They were ordered to immediately stop teaching about many core issues of sociological concern or lose federal funding. It’s an immediate and existential threat to our discipline.
More TL;DR: The decision to call in police, in riot gear, to assault their own students, was not made at the last minute, but was planned days in advance. As the oppression escalated, they cheered one another on through emails to one another that said "Excellent", and similar.
More TL;DR: Encampments had happened on campus before, for other issues, and were allowed-- on several occasions. Just not this time, and not about this issue.
TL;DR: The @ucalgary.bsky.social admins fell over themselves to make up rules & to arbitrarily apply others. They were willing to violate students' right to assembly & expression *for the sole reason that they didn't agree with the students' position*.
