I was astonished to see the CCC's adaptation report didn't include a word about preparing for AMOC collapse. How can we expect the UK government to prepare if the CCC has nothing to say about an existential threat?! So I've just fired off this email to the CCC and Baroness Brown.

The BBC also took the opportunity to ask why Tony Blair should say (yesterday) that Net-Zero is doomed. And why he did that the day before the local elections!
The BBC says we need to build resilience into new infrastructure (referring to the outage in Spain and Portugal) and ensure the 1.5 million new homes government plans to build are ready. The CCC also warns our hospitals, roads, homes for the elderly, most critical infrastructure, etc aren't ready.
Today the BBC has broadcast the most detailed series of reports on climate breakdown since COP26 in Glasgow. Every 30 minutes, or so, the BBC has reported on the CCC's Adaptation Team's warning that government is failing miserably to prepare the country for more extremes of flood, heat and drought.
