i actually think this is a pretty clarifying example in the conversation about generative ai use. "humanoid robot ran faster than human" is the same as "claude wrote a novel" or whatever. who gives a shit? these accomplishments are significant *because people do them*, not in and of themselves.

Several bluebird babies in the nest.
Nice little eastern bluebird nest at my neighbor's house.
Evening grosbeaks.
I guess I better put my feeders out now.
The FBI Director, the DC US Attorney, and the Secretary of Defense walk into a bar.
Apparently like every day.
He's running.
Child abuse and cover-up are fine... But an outspoken Pope is a bridge way too far!

Thank you for your courage to publicly address abusive language.
How exciting
That would be a kindness compared to what I thought it was.

Louisiana Waterthrushes were one of the few warblers that I should've managed to find last year for my walking list (birds seen walking distance from my house).
Decided that wouldn't be the case this year, so I was delighted to get a chance to watch one this evening. Look at that bounce!

What even is that gray slab of tongue-like meat? đł
@KylePlantEmoji Me: at a certain point in a relationship, you get to a point where you've seen your partner's butthole more than they have themselves, and I think there's something beautiful in that Priest: the bride has also chosen to write her own vows 5:19 PM ⢠Mar 27, 2020
A classic from the Old Site
Thank you! Quite lucky as usual
Really crappy cell phone pic, but there was a very rare Western Cattle Egret today off Lake Michigan near Grand Rapids.
Wow, quite a nice surprise!

Of course they were. We need to abolish PACs now and forever. Repeal Citizens United.
A boxed set of "The birthplace of American spirits" including gin, whiskey, and rum from Virginia
Honestly, I bought this probably 75% because @catoctincreek.bsky.social was involved, but the other 25% is my Virginia homer tendencies.
I, somewhat greedily, got my hands on a second set to keep with my barrel pick bottles (of which there is only one).
Quite astute, this hot take...

From new Hungarian Prime Minister PĂŠter Magyar's acceptance speech tonight. This is the absolute BARE MINIMUM platform for any Democrat running for President in 2028.
Kaine: "You don't sucker punch somebody in a bar and then blame your buddies when they don't join the fight with you. If the president wanted the support of allies, he should've respected them instead of putting tariffs on their economies and trash talking them."
