Emails show Amazon colluding with other firms to raise prices, California authorities allege.
What is it doing in the UK? Will any regulator even investigate?
Exec pay linked to profits. Every incentive to rig the market, fleece customers.
Robbins said no.10 put pressure on the foreign office to give Matthew Doyle a job & not tell the foreign secretary!
Doyle is the man Starmer subsequently gave a peerage to despite the fact he'd campaigned for someone who'd been charged with possessing indecent images of children
Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.

ISC members now expected to assess documents on Tuesday & Thursday before returning them to government, with any redactions, by end of week ready for public release.
Also includes vetting template showing UKSV flagged “high concern” over Mandelson’s appointment & recommended that clearance should be “denied”.
ISC expected to push for further info incl audit trail of who knew what when re decision & minutes of meetings held by Olly Robbins within FCDO on affair.
EXCL: Intelligence & Security Committee has now been handed the vetting information the cabinet office received several weeks ago.
Understand this includes short summary doc including details of Mandelson’s personal life, financial & business dealings - which PM is now believed to have seen.
People still buy new cars?
I checked this too.
*20 seconds* of Reform logo display.
*No other* party logo displayed.
In local election purdah.
This is not normal. At all.
I will report back when I receive a reply to my FoI request
Even basic research into info in the public domain, and a consideration of his previous sackings in govt, would have led anyone sensible to not only not make Mandelson ambassador to anywhere but not let him anywhere near government ever again.
Hindsight doesn’t come into it.
Chaos then Ed Miliband
Let me be blunt: the way that the UK's media has approached this year's Holyrood election, particularly vis a vis commissioning MRPs, has been the most staggeringly and frankly offensively useless attitude that I have seen in any of the four Holyrood elections I've been able to vote in. Good gods.
Someone sensible wouldn’t have appointed Mandelson.
Absolutely fantastic statement for the Telegraph to make in their article where not only did the provider of their MRP forget to remove Greens from constituencies and suggest Reform's strongest seat in Scotland would be Strathkelvin and Bearsden, *they didn't even do D'Hondt correctly*
A majority would bin him tomorrow if they could agree on a replacement. But they can't so this all drags on...
(And all politics is history)
ALL! HISTORY! IS! POLITICS!
The problem with Starmer's argument (well one of them) is that it depends on an assertion that he wouldn't have appointment Mandelson if he'd known he'd failed vetting.
But he appointed him before vetting was complete.
His nicknames were "the Prince of Darkness" and "the Dark Lord".
He was repeatedly sacked from government for lying.
His connections to Epstein and Russia were widely reported for years.
Yet Starmer still trying to claim he was somehow kept in the dark about Mandelson being a wrongun. Come on
Good lord, this lot have £ms of UK Govt contracts?
A bit of due diligence on the sanity of the owner might have been worthwhile
In fact, pluralism is in itself a universalist idea - that humans and societies are more likely to thrive where people are free to live, think, believe and speak freely, as themselves and as they see fit insofar as it does not harm others, and without fear of state or the rest society.
I think it was Christopher Hitchens who said the all religion is dangerous in the same way - demand adherents set aside rational thought - so *any* religion, depending on circumstance and context, can be the most dangerous at any given moment.
‘We’? Who’s ‘We’?
Honestly just ban social media until the companies can show they’ve got a grip on this.
I’m increasingly not sure democracy can survive the deepfake era.
Fascism does not traditionally advocate that “free and democratic” societies are preferable to the alternative.
The footage from 20 surveillance cameras, obtained by Channel 12's investigative program 'Uvda,' raises questions about why it remained unseen for over two years. 'A lot of people went to the trouble of making sure we don't see these things,' one survivor said

5. If this is, as I suspect, online recruitment by Iranian agents, then we should be alert to escalations. The classic escalation path is graffiti to arson to murder. They seem to be skipping the graffiti this time.
