Hi there! Some news, but as of this morning, I am no longer with Mad Cave. I am eternally grateful for the past 4.5 years with you all, and with such an amazing team.
Thank you so much for trusting me with marketing your books!
Hey folks, after nearly 4 years at Mad Cave, I was let go this morning. It was a wonderful time getting to work with an amazing list of creators. If we have worked together, please stay in touch. I am available for freelance editing and would love to work with you all in the future.

It isn't that loans are gone. There are new limits and the Grad Plus loans are eliminated altogether. And yes people can still take private loans if they want but that is a really bad idea.
Yes that's the case.

look at palantir (and other AI) dipshits talk about the work they do - ie identifying, monitoring, & facilitating the extrajudicial murder of people all over the world - and tell me you defend a corporate structure's right to exist, or a "kill chain's" right to exist.
and MY work scandalizes you?

Take some time to reflect on everything libraries do and stand for and the threats they are facing.
Then think about how you can help.

If I've missed any statements or informational posts from ALA, ACRL, MLA, etc., please send them along.
Starting July 1 there will be new limits on student loans for MLS students under the limited understanding of what fits as a "professional" degree.
This limit is going to further restrict access to the field.
I haven't seen anywhere near enough discussion of this (truthfully, none) by pro orgs. 📚
Increasingly impossible to exist at all without a tech company claiming control or ownership over you, your identity, and/or any information about you.
And, no, "just stay offline" isn't really a solution. We've all but made living without using the internet impossible.
We need a better compact.
people get hella mad when you say adult drivers should be more responsible than children on our streets.
Who even are you

A fifteen drawer card catalog with some drawers pulled out and Library of Congress literature in the drawers and on top.
It is National Library Week and the Library of Congress has done a cute nationwide thing with old card catalogs highlighting a lot of their core programs. I'm partial to their "Free to Use and Reuse Sets" but I'm sure we've all got our faves. 📚
