The media's day has been ruined by Olly Robbins, he didn't contradict anything Starmer said yesterday. The rest of the day and probably all bloody week will be filled with the media desperately trying to keep this b*llocks alive until polling day.

Well said.
Thought he was better than that but appears not!
This morning I’ve seen Olly Robbins’s appearance before the select committee described as ‘box office’, while a commentator flagged up another key political moment with the words ‘bring the popcorn’.
That’s one of our main problems right there.
BBC News December 2024:
‘Farage has meanwhile said that he "might disagree with Mandelson on his politics, but he's a very intelligent man" and would be good choice for ambassador.’
The world faces economic turmoil caused by Trump.
Climate change threatens the future of the planet.
Putin threatens European security.
The UK has extra problems caused by Brexit
Yet, British media & politics is obsessed about a stupid ambassador appointment 2 years ago…
Agree.
Unfortunately you get the likes of Farage misleading the public that voting for Reform in the Local Election will result in the end of a Starmer Govt. There should be regulations against this & education for the public on the differences between General & Local Elections.
👏 People stop listening to the press when every day is nothing but negatives about the Govt & on things that don’t affect their day to day lives. Most people’s interest in politics is confined to whether they can afford their bills & food, can rely on the NHS & get good education. The rest is noise!
OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.
Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.
(h/t @iainsol.bsky.social)
This must be a breach of impartiality ? It's a bias towards a political party. Heads must roll for this?
Meanwhile outside of Westminster bubble:
"Starmer is doing the best job that anybody could do, particularly internationally."
This would be an absolutely vile thing to do. We are so much better than this. Please don’t ever vote for Reform!
It began with coal and steel. But from the very start, our Union was always meant to be much more.
75 years ago, in Paris, with the signing of the Treaty of Paris, Europe chose a different path.
One of unity over division, of peace over war.
On the button. Greens - Lib Dems wake up.
A 2000 year warning also applicable to Farage.
Laura Kuenssberg poses the question why can't Starmer move on from the Mandelson problem.
One reason is her and Chris Mason's 24/7 obsession with trashing him.
Add Sam Coates, Beth Rigby & Jon Craig! It’s getting ridiculous!
Agree & Sam Coates, Beth Rigby & Jon Craig are taking it to new levels.
👏👏.
I’m sick of hearing it!
People keep telling me they've always been Labour voters, but not any more Nigel Farage is expecting a political earthquake' in the local elections next month - but insists the era of Tory defections is over.
Cosy fluff-piece on Farage in today’s Times, I note. Don’t hold out much hope they’ll have mentioned the number of Reform candidates with previous for extreme racist views or wanting to decimate the NHS. *sighs*
I still remain unconvinced he wants to be PM; too much effort required, and his mates would have gone by then with Orban the first domino to fall. Arguably,
Boris Johnson would be considered a workaholic in comparison. That’s assuming he would be returned in Clacton, given he doesn’t go there.
Just can’t see him doing the work that’s a requirement of the role, you know like reading all the necessary documentation, understanding laws, both national & international & attending meeting after meeting, day in day out. He didn’t when in the EU parliament did he!
I feel the same way about Reform as I do about MAGA. I think the British people will regret voting for them.

Good.
**COVID-19 BEREAVED FAMILIES FOR JUSTICE** --- Nigel Farage MP Leader of Reform UK Millbank Tower 21-24 Millbank London SW1P 4QP 17 April 2026 Dear Nigel Farage, We are writing on behalf of Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK, a group formed by people whose loved ones died from Covid-19 and who have fought ever since for truth, accountability and the changes needed to save lives in future. More than 230,000 people across the UK died from Covid-19. It is therefore deeply concerning that there is an emerging pattern of Covid and vaccine conspiracy theories among Reform UK candidates in the upcoming local and devolved elections. These falsehoods are an insult to those who died, cause real pain to the bereaved, and put public health at risk. Recent reporting has linked Reform candidates to a series of Covid and vaccine conspiracy claims. David Booth, standing for Reform in Croydon, was reported to have described Covid-19 as a "staged event" designed by "powerful forces". Glenda Hall, a Reform candidate in Sunderland, shared material asking whether Covid was the "hoax of the century". Emma Clatworthy, a Reform candidate in Wales, was reported to have shared a claim that people were rushing to get a vaccine that "can kill them". Kenneth Morton, a Reform candidate in Scotland, reportedly liked posts describing Covid-19 as "a psychological hoax" treated with a "fake vaccine". These are serious falsehoods about a virus that killed more than 230,000 people in this country, and about vaccines that saved millions of lives. When people seeking public office promote claims like these, they lend them credibility and put public health at risk. Yesterday, the UK Covid-19 Inquiry published its Module 4 report on vaccines and therapeutics. The report says Covid-19 vaccination programmes are estimated to have saved 14.4 million lives worldwide in their first year. More than 450,000 lives were saved in England and Scotland up to March 2023. But it also highlighted the need…
Covid Bereaved Families for Justice have written to Reform following my story on the party's Covid-conspiracy theorist candidate and others
I now see what happened with the Mandelson vetting. Ollie Robbins treated it as a normal ambassadorial appointment, where he had sole discretion on vetting. In fact, he should have treated it as the equivalent of a Ministerial appointment, where the PM would expect to be told of any issues. 1/
BBC today correct Nigel Farage's false claim to Nick Robinson on Political Thinking (13th February 2026) that net migration was only down due to an "exodus" of people leaving the UK since 90% of net migration fall was a fall in immigration. After my 3rd complaint!
www.bbc.co.uk/helpandfeedb...
Fuck sake, Darren Jones just on explaining why Starmer or anyone didn’t know about Mandelson failing the vetting.
Explained clearly.
Next Item: Why didn’t Starmer know?
Fuck sake you’ve just been told.
Another fckn witch hunt with liars on opposition calling for him to go.
What a fckn country.

IMF hails UK's budget deficit improvement, which fell from 6.1% of GDP in 2024 to 5.4% in 2025.
IMF is forecasting that the UK’s annual deficit will drop to 3.9% of GDP this year & continue falling until 2031 when it will be 1.6% of GDP, the second-lowest in the G7.
