We have buckets of hydrothermal vent snails after our first ROV dive! These are cuties are Alviniconcha spp., who have endosymbiotic bacteria in their gills and can withstand balmier deep-sea temperatures (5-33 degrees C) near vents #SnailsRising #NSFfunded

I get 20-30 peer review requests *every year* but realistically can only review ~10 manuscripts on top of my normal workload; I try to suggest postdocs and senior PhD students as alternates when I need to decline!
