Adding another paid game to my already busy schedule. The Gaze of Ghatanothoa begins October 30th at Dragon Guild in Chilliwack. Will be nice to be closer to home for one of my paid games and nice to start one at Dragon Guild (although my Chilliwack Ruins of the Grendleroot game has moved there).

In my Session Zeros, I make clear that it drives me absolutely crazy to have PCs constantly searching for traps and secret doors and I'll always assume they're looking, they'll get a chance to find them if one is in their path, and my expectation is that they'll RP a failed save without metagaming.

Maybe not epic, but it was pretty awesome. They were very scared, especially for the Wizard. However, they used some excellent tactics, including the Wizard using Greater Invisibility to buy time & the Autognome using Stone Shape to make a hole in the door for the Wizard to dive thru. They survived.
That look on your players' faces when the Fire Giant Nat 20s a Perception roll to spot the Wizard & Monk, the Monk Step of the Winds to flee, & then the Giant goes before the Wizard & hits a pressure plate to trigger a door trap to seal the Wizard in with him. A glorious "Holy Crap!" moment! #DnD
They aren't missing it, they just don't care because their "freedom" is all that matters, not the freedoms of others.
