I had (thankfully) completely forgotten about this! His name should have been the first to check.

This is a competition I would not like to enter!
According to Google Scholar, Anthony Fauci's h-index is 241. I can't find any psychologists who have a higher number -- has he got our field beat? (tbh this would make a lot of sense)
age of electricity!! age of electricity!!
hell yeah BEST OF LUCK. i've been putting that bad boy off for at least a decade at this point. its very intimidating!
Michael crichton was 6'9" when he wrote Jurassic park. Imagine the dinosaur adventure Robert Wadlow could have wrote. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (6'1"): The Lost World (1912) Michael crichton (6'9"): Jurassic park Robert Wadlow (8'11"): ???????????

we welcome you with open arms!
Learning python for this project has inadvertently caused me to double down on "I will never code with AI." Why would I outsource my fun* to a robot!
*not fun for everyone, I recognize! But like all else good in academia, coding is just solving little puzzles of our own design
This paper is mindblowingly cool.
Bunch of cool personality related stuff in this episode!
🚨🚨🚨 International Society for Moral Psychology (ISMP) 🚨🚨🚨
ISMP was formed to create an interdisciplinary and international home for moral psychology, aimed at fostering deeper engagement across traditions, methodologies, and cultural contexts.

You'd think! in the context of the psych science biathlon, "regression" actually refers to how I am somehow now less competent on skis than I was in middle school.
American and Israeli missiles hit Sharif University in Tehran tonight. Often called #Iran’s MIT, the institution has been home to some of the country’s best and brightest minds in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics since 1966. 1/2
The NSF 2027 budget has noted that they will close out the Social, Behavioral, and Economic Science Program (SBE). This is not a good thing. nsf-gov-resources.nsf.gov/files/FY-202...
Last week, the very first research paper where I am first author came out as preprint!🥳I investigated how combining longitudinal data on childhood psychopathology and polygenic scores in machine learning models predicts adult quality of life. osf.io/preprints/ps....
In that case, I am extremely sorry for your loss.
If it's crunchy shelled tacos as advertised, you're not missing much... Soft shells are the *only* way to go.
There's a big diff across zygosities - as Michel mentioned elsewhere, MZs are more than twice as similar as DZs. (it's usually like r= .50 vs .20).
No consistent differences across personality models, except for that more reliable scales have more heritable signal (due to less measurement error)!
I'd love to read that -- for me, seeing that the correlation between MZ twins apart ≈ MZ twins together (+ DZT ≈ DZA) sets my prior for that nonlinearity to be from genexgene interaction (or shared womb environment!)
For some general rgs, check out Figs 2 and 3 of our consortium preprint: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
(In the ukb, neuroticism and hand grip rg = -.17: ukbb-rg.hail.is/rg_browser/)
But more generally, if two things correlate phenotypically, dollars to donuts they correlate genetically!
A lot of these critiques focus on edu and IQ, which compared to personality are more confounded by popstrat, have more AM, have a C path in twin studies, and twins/adoptee h2 differs. My read of the personality genetics lit is that there's not any evidence for shared env fx, from *any* study.
@chops310.bsky.social do I have news for you
Apparently, every 3 years, I write a purpose theory paper!
In 2020, I wrote about how purpose fits into personality psych.
In 2023, I wrote about if/how purpose meets Allport's criteria for a trait.
In 2026, I'm excited to share a paper on purpose as a state!

Me & @aysuo.bsky.social are hiring a postdoc to study gene–environment interplay in health & social inequalities 🧬
You'll analyze genomic data as part of a collaboration with Uppsala & Oslo at @amsterdamumc.bsky.social (NL)

Don’t Do Difference In Differences (DDDID), cheers, guido
I was on a podcast! I had great fun talking about my favorite social science genetics topic (partner similarity!) with @aysuo.bsky.social and @rafaelahlskog.bsky.social. If you want to learn more about assortative mating and why it is so interesting, give it a listen 🎧!
Sun and Punishment sounds like a great whimsical novel about the time young Foucault forgot to 'screen up before hitting the beach
