The answer isn't to double down on neoliberalism and protect the wealthy at the expense of the vulnerable. The system needs to change. Greater targeting of the wealthy, who hoard it, is what is required.

Email your MP. Let them know this will not stand.

I didn't vote for Labour becos I knew they couldn't be trusted, but even I'm taking aback by just how callous and quick they've thrown vulnerable people under the bus. Reform will be licking their lips.

I've never contacted my MP until today. @teamlabouruk.bsky.social decision to push through cuts on welfare and push vulnerable people into or further into poverty is simply deplorable. @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social comments yesterday were disgusting, and he is stigmatising mental health.

Book no. 2: All Quiet on the Western Front. Worth the read when we see everything going on in the world. Looking forward to reading his sequel

This is the game right here. This is reason for why everything is the way it is.

Or as Percy Bysshe Shelley wrote way back in 1821:

"The rich have become richer, and the poor have become poorer; and the vessel of the State is driven between the Scylla and Charybdis of anarchy and despotism."

Good of the US to follow Britain and also take a sledgehammer to their own economy.

The crisis in British higher education is acute + painful right now. If you are in it you already know this, but for those who are not I want to share what is going on. As strikes start at Newcastle Uni + others will doubtless follow, now is a time for solidarity + resistance

This is why I love Vermont.

Having lived in Vermont I can confirm. This would have caused a duel in the 19th century

Wow: JD Vance is apparently skiing in Vermont this weekend and the locals aren’t having it. Thousands have lined the streets in protest.

Fox News reported that JD Vance had to move to an “undisclosed location” due to protests at the Vermont resort where he’s skiing this weekend. For inflicting misery on the world and here at home in America, this is exactly the energy that should greet Vance wherever he goes for the rest of his days.

Being AuDHD can feel like living between contradictions.

Too much, not enough. Scattered but hyperfocused.

Craving structure but resisting it.

This space is about understanding yourself, not fixing anything.

We’ll explore masking, burnout, inertia, and self-advocacy with others who get it.

No second state visit for Trump This is UNBELIEVABLE. Keir Starmer has just handed Donald Trump a letter from King Charles, inviting him for a second state visit to the UK. It’s totally unprecedented, and I was so outraged when I he...

Unbelievable. Donald Trump has been invited to a state visit to the UK. We should not be rolling out the red carpet to celebrate this man. Agree? Add your name to the petition today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/no...

Certainly, the impression the tutor gave me was that he knew what to say to people to keep them happy and be on their side.

First up: The Shining by @stephenking.bsky.social. Banging book and, as always, better than the film. I was speaking with a colleague who didn't feel sympathy for Jack, but I felt for him. Trying to escape his demons passed on by father, the Overlook exploited it for its own gain. 5/5

One of the biggest problems with ADHD is the inability to concentrate, which has made it increasingly difficult for me to read a book, especially when doing a PhD makes me feel guilty for not doing PhD work! So, I've set myself a challenge to read one book a month and to use this for accountability!

Running thread of people trying to normalize the sieg heil. It's not an "Elon gesture", it's not autism, it's not your heart going out, it's not parody or trolling. It's fucking despicable. Don't ever let this shit become normal. Fuck any excuse given, there is none. Zero tolerance.

A tutor I had at uni went to school with him. He told us how he had to share a bus home with him everyday and listen to how so far up his own arse he was. I think "tool" was one word he used to describe him.

The post by Trump on Truth Social reads:

Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn't be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and "TRUMP," will never be able to settle. The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe's money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back. Why didn't Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us — We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation. On top of this, Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is "MISSING." He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden "like a fiddle." A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left. In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only
"TRUMP," and the Trump Administration, can do. Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the "gravy train" going. I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died - And so it continues.....

🚨Holy shit.

Trump has just launched a scathing attack on Zelenskyy.

He’s actually called him a dictator.

There can be no doubt: the President of the United States is now a Kremlin asset.

Globalisation isn't the problem, ya fanny.

It's the hoarding of extreme wealth by a minority, who control the media, the modes of production, and government. That's the problem.

Immigrants & transgender people aren't the problem, they are the scapegoats to keep people from looking up at the 1%.
