Estimates show the 1918 flu epidemic killed about 45,000 US soldiers, about 38% of the total US military deaths in WWI. The flu and its secondary illnesses made up the majority of death by disease. Thousands (possibly as many as 36,000) died before making it from basic training to the battlefield.

This is so disappointing. Sending this to my daughter, a U undergrad who is using this a lot for her Capstone and other papers (History major)
Mine is close to that but includes heat, cable, WiFi, water/garbage, parking, grounds keeping & pool, snow removal. Plus the building insurance (part of HOA) covers so much that individual policy is ~$700/year. The math isnโt as bad as it seems.
HCMC is an indispensable Level 1 trauma center for all patients โ including my daughter who arrived there gravely injured in pedestrian-SUV crash. It's responsible for training generations of doctors. SICU nurses and TBI staff are exceptional. Count yourself lucky if you have no reason to know that.
Yes. Came here for this. They should be โฆ up?
Agree. We never knew of an asphalt option? City tagged many on our block near Lake Hiawatha and we paid to have most of ours replaced a while back.
In a sunny spot near house, we regularly have chives, sage, and oregano overwinter.
This is great to see!
Available Sunday before 3 to help
Just finished this. He was great. Loved his character too.
but we're at a "very unique moment," Matt ... does that help?
I read this to the end. And still don't know what the tagline means. Also, when your VP of comms uses the phrase "very unique" (not a thing that's possible), it does not instill confidence.

I left him alone after the first 15-20 minutes! A couple people did come up and thank him, and one pre-teen (who asked for an autograph) with her mom was sweet
This was not even First Class!
Colleen in smiling selfie with Gov. Walz, on Delta flight back to Minneapolis.
My wild attempts to get home on rebooked Delta flight yesterday ended with this. (Gov. Walz was also thrilled to get home just before storm!)
Yes!
Exactly!
I made it! Fourth rebooked Delta flight was the charm. ***And my seatmate was Gov. Walz*** Howโs that for an amazing ending to my travel adventuresโฆ
You too!
I spent 13 hours trying to rebook two cancelled MCO>MSP flights for late Saturday Was originally told they could not rebook me! Then moved to Tuesday. Changed it to PBI>MSP (at 3:20 am after 6 hours messaging) and am hoping to make it just before storm tonight. Leaving in an hour, fingers crossed!
After, and i cannot stress this enough, 13 HOURS, including six hours in my last messages / chat alone, and at least seven phone calls and 3+ hours on hold, I have rebooked my Delta flight โย I hope for the final time.
(I place the odds of this flight also getting cancelled at 50/50)
I am on my 4th Delta flight cancel/rebooking, this time from a new Florida airport, hopefully getting in before storm gets bad at MSP. Time spent: 12 hours. Worth every minute if it saves me from current rebooked flight (Tuesday), and missing family gathering on our first birthday without Anya.
What kind of insane message is this from Delta? They're going to "automatically cancel" my ticket if I don't reach out to re-book within 24 hours. How can I "reach out" when their chat and phone lines are non-functional. Even their own agents are unable to rebook. Web site literally not working.
After spending three hours to get customer support and move my flight earlier to avoid storm, Delta just cancelled my flight.
So fun to get multiple texts and emails from Delta to change flight ... when their website, app, messaging, live chat functions are all overwhelmed and not loading or multi-hour waits
Now: Dropkick Murphys hit the stage for a benefit in Minneapolis across from where Alex Pretti was killed by federal agents.
โWe cannot thank you enough for all youโve done on behalf of freedom and democracy in Americaโ
This is who the Minnesota WILD GM wanted in the US Men's locker room to celebrate. Someone who is actively covering up the murders of 2 Minnesotans.
i literally just emailed her again, about this, and said "i look forward to your generic reponse"
Minnesota child: Is it cold out?
Minnesota mom: No, itโs nice. Sunny. No wind.
Narrator: It was 10 degrees.
