Digital sovereignty needs secure hardware: At the CISPA CYBER BRIEFING, experts discussed processor security, RISC-V, and strengthening Europe’s technological capabilities. Key takeaway: openness helps, but security requires research, investments and collaboration. cispa.de/en/cyber-briefing-berlin
Think security holistically: Thorsten Eisenhofer @eisenhofer.bsky.social shifts the focus from isolated ML model vulnerabilities to the security of the entire systems they’re part of—where real-world attacks happen. More info about Thorsten’s work: cispa.de/en/eisenhofer
✨We are especially grateful for the visit and keynote by Prof. Dr. Nicolas Papernot, @nicolaspapernot.bsky.social. As one of the pioneers in trustworthy AI, his fundamental research provides the foundation for many of the tasks addressed during the hackathon.✨
🏆 Amazing work! Congratulations to the winning teams of the fourth regional CISPA European AI & Cybersecurity Hackathon Championship! 🎉
🥇 1st Place: Team Pentagon
🥈 2nd Place: Team ZOS
🥉 3rd Place: Team CATByte
This edition of the CISPA European Cybersecurity & AI Hackathon Championship highlights what is achieved when notable research institutions such as CISPA and TUM collaborate and create space for exploration and growth.
⏱ Final Stretch: The Last Hours of the Hackathon
Many teams spent the night continuing to work on their solutions, with very little time for sleep. As the final phase begins, teams prepare their presentations, in which they explain how they approached the challenges. 💻
🌙 Evening Break at the Hackathon – Recharging for the Night Shift
After hours of intense work, it’s time to recharge, so the freshly delivered pizza comes at just the right moment. The teams at the hackathon in Munich are using this short break to recuperate and gather their thoughts. 🍕⚡
A special thank you to Prof. Dr. Stephan Grünnemann from TUM School of Computing for honoring us with an opening keynote.
💻 Hacking, coding, researching–and having a ton of fun!
Our fourth regional qualifier for the CISPA European AI & Cybersecurity Hackathon Championship has kicked off at @tum.de. Since early morning, the CISPA team has been working on the set up, checking the tech, and preparing the challenges.
PhD candidates & postdocs at CISPA aren’t on their own. Our Early Career Support team helps them focus on research while growing professionally & personally—through training, career tracks, kickoff days & 1:1 support. Learn more: cispa.de/en/ecas
Vielen Dank.
Meet our new CISPA-Faculty: Fuzzing Expert Dr. Moritz Schloegel 💻

Starting early pays off: From March 16 to 19, 25 girls from Saarland, aged 13 to 18, visited the CISPA CySec Lab. The BWINF GirlsCamp specifically supports girls who are interested in computer science. We are excited to support and inspire the next generation of female computer scientists!
Did you know that modern browsers can access your hardware directly? What comes in handy can also be exploited. CISPA researcher @ltrampert.bsky.social on hardware access via web browsers 👉 youtube.com/shorts/SZKAG...
Deno promises to be secure by default. A study by CISPA researcher Abdullah Alhamdan shows that while Deno has a smaller attack surface than Node.js, it is not automatically secure. Shadow permissions and URL-based imports can introduce supply-chain risks. Learn more: cispa.de/en/deno
