My aunt and uncle live there (in her home town) and they're also now worried the prez is going to be even more desperate since she’s got major financial backing from the UAE who now have uh…other priorities

Two sandwich boards lean against each other at the edge of a parking lot. One reads NO VIKS PARKING, the other VIKS PARKING ONLY

“California” style burritos (filling plus french fries, guac, and sour cream) are an abomination. The fries can’t stay crisp so you get a tube of soggy, oily, lukewarm potato and hot guac. An affront to god and to the great falafel/frites sandwich

A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies — including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought — are not able to apply for direct relief.

The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."

The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.

"Those taxes you just paid? The money is going straight into Trump's pocket" would be good messaging

Really bipartisan effort too. Like my conservative grandma in Texas and our pothead neighbors in California were in 100% lockstep agreement- no babies having babies

I know there’s a lot of talk about how millennials aren’t having babies young because they can’t afford it but imo a not insignificant reason is that if you were a teen in the late 90s every adult you met would scream “having a baby will RUIN YOUR LIFE” unprompted

Every single one of the astronauts who went to the moon and back on Artemis II was educated at a public school.

Thinking of the teachers who poured into Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen tonight. You helped send a kid to the moon!
