Beautiful, sunny, cold day at parkrun.

Today I got my fastest time at Hazlehead parkrun since 2020 😀

After a brief memorial, laz lit the cigarette at 6:00am. The 2026 Barkley Marathons has begun. #BM100

After 21 days without sunshine, Aberdeen recorded its first sunshine since 21st January this afternoon 😎

The joys of being a parkrun ED: when a minor course diversion means you need to step in as an extra marshal rather than do the 5K… so you can shelter under an umbrella guilt-free ☔️ 🤣

Confession time: I gave up when the score hit 15-0. Glad to hear the second half was better.

Best way to spend a Monday morning in January: go for a lovely sunny walk then come home, drink coffee and finish booking this summer’s 🇮🇪 holiday.

I’m a big fan. My home event is incredibly supportive of walkers, which certainly helps, but I’d definitely recommend you give it a go.

I think it was 62/80 cancellations in Scotland 😢

Two lovely walks yesterday and today. Fingers are now firmly crossed that the weather doesn’t scupper NYD parkrun tomorrow!

Looks like the New Year’s Day and 3rd January parkruns might be at risk 😢

I tried it yesterday. Really not keen. I’d rather have a chocolate orange and a glass of original Baileys.

Hazlehead has finally beaten its previous record attendance, set on 1/1/20. 462 finishers today, up from 387 last Christmas Day and the previous record of 431. What a morning!
