every student club/“secret society” has countless rounds of interviews, applications, make-work, all constructed by students to subject to themselves. its very possible to socialize without (what i did) but most of the legible ways of interacting with people are gated by this. frustrating!

i answered my own question by looking at steam tags - looks like ~60-70 subgenres of games and by my rough estimate probably 10% of those are “modern” is that high or low who knows

like if you’re gonna name categories with the “width” of sts - how many of those are there, total?

would also recommend watching vods by good players if ur into that. xecnar is widely regarded as the best spire 1 player, he has two runs up for spire 2 and it is such a joy to watch, he optimizes the game at such a high level

i’ve found success being a coward and dodging ~1 elite every act, also resting much more. you scale really well bc relics in general are so strong and acts 2/3 are kind of weak right now so you can win with not a lot. elites are real scary and you need to plan around them (like in spire 1)
