Actors are so beautiful. When you witness an actor stitch together text-thought-heart-voice and their eyes light up and everything comes out as one single wave...it’s so beautiful.

Chris Ryan on ‘The Pitt,’ Michael Mann, and CR Month on ‘The Rewatchables’ | Talk Easy YouTube video by Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso

“I guess I am becoming a bit more like a Michael Mann character.”

Had a very silly, sprawling conversation with Chris Ryan of The Ringer.

Are We Okay to Go?: Contact (1997) and the Purpose of a Pause This is the moment of a woman alone, shuddering with the g-force and fear; repeating into a static void, a fierce whisper to convince them: “I’m okay to go. I’m okay to go.”

An absolutely amazing film & a staggeringly beautiful score. The perfect sound to accompany a very complex and persistent cinematic mood piece. Still astonishes me that we are alive at the same time as TERRENCE MALICK and yet we cannot, nor do we know how to, fully appreciate his full-blown genius.

Effective 2025 federal tax rates paid by these corporations:

Alphabet: 8.01%
AT&T: 4.6%
Meta: 3.57%
General Motors: 3.09%
Amazon: 1.37%
Exxon Mobil: 1.31%
Disney: -1.57%
CVS Health: -3.88%

Income tax rate paid by the typical American: 14.5%

This is what a rigged system looks like.

The Artemis II mission reminds me of these 1960s photos of NASA astronauts training in Iceland because they felt the terrain would be similar to what they'd encounter on the moon. The outfits are so great, even some 60 years later.
