My kiddos birthday is on the 25th of a month, so one year in a stroke of parenting genius I saved a dice Advent Calendar for her birthday month. (And executive function success - both remembered I had done that and was able to find it!)

Was going to comment and realized my comment was not all that relevant as it was historical rather than contemporary. But, if you want to be grossed out about going barefoot, I have a book recommendation for that: "American Murderer: The Parasite That Haunted The South" by Gail Jarrow
