I think saying “he’s the 7th or 8th greatest Yankee” is a far cry from saying he’s overrated. That’s an amazing list!

I’ve said it a million times but, if Jeter were on any other team he’d be Craig Biggio. Who was great! Whereas Mariano…best ever at his position and it’s not particularly close.

(Speaking as a Red Sox fan) I gotta put Mariano above Jeter/Reggie. He’s simply the greatest to ever do what he did, while Jeter wasn’t even the best shortstop on his own team 1/2 his career.

Yeah I don’t really disagree with that. I think maybe the point is that winning at the ballot box will be more challenging if the voters aren’t convinced you’re really up for the fight. Or, at least that’s a possibility worth considering.

I think, possibly, the value is political, even electoral. Impeachment is a political tool, even in failure. It’s hard to argue you’re fighting the most corrupt administration ever when you won’t avail yourself of the very tool designed to combat that corruption.
