Buzzwording AI didn't help either. Machine learning got shoved in with LLMs. Machine learning is great! It's used a lot! It's an actual helpful application in a lot of things! Having to pry it away from LLMs sucks ass, and it's safer to just reject it all entirely.

I take his point; I think we all agree that the policies leave a fair bit to be desired, but in terms of basic day-to-day admin they’re perfectly adequate, certainly compared to what came before. Managerialism is not sufficient, but it is better than not having that either.
