Great couple of days spent in Tallinn learning more about the volunteer Assistant Police and speaking with some of the wonderful ‘Abipolitseinik’ about their volunteering and their variety of policing roles. 10x comparatively the scale of the UK Special Constabulary, and growing!

Great to visit the Hungarian volunteer civil guard and the Lithuanian volunteer police supporters in recent days. Both interesting, evolving volunteer police programmes. Such a lot we can learn internationally from volunteer policing around the world.
A big thank you to Kent Special Constabulary roads policing for taking out our visitors from the Hungarian Polgárőrség this evening both for an operational ride-along & also to visit & learn more about Volunteer Police Cadets. Kent Police have led the way in the UK on SCs and roads policing.
A brilliant day with the Hungarian Polgárőrség (Auxiliary Police). Thank you Dame Diana Johnson, Minister for Policing, Fire and Crime, Alex McIntyre MP & Simon Opher MP for engaging with this great example of community policing, and thanks to Nicolas Mejenny for hosting us at the French embassy.
Very much looking forward to attending the annual Lord Ferrers Awards in London today. Celebrating the impact, innovation, and dedication of amazing people contributing to their communities across the country. It was a real pleasure as always to be part of the judging panel for the awards.
Great to be in Cologne sharing learning from the UK experience of cyber, digital and specialist volunteers. Helping support the exciting ambitions to develop ‘trusted cyber volunteers’ in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Specialist volunteers can bring enormous value to policing.
Great to present at the Merseyside Special Constabulary conference this morning. As ever, a great group of inspiring people. Some good discussions about the future. Thank you SCI Laura Hart for the invitation.
In London today presenting on the ongoing national review of specialist, cyber and digital volunteering. Thanks to the @ukhomeoffice.bsky.social for bringing the group together, and to the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists for hosting the meeting.
A pleasure to visit Hampshire Special Constabulary leadership team today and to present on the national picture and the future. Some great discussion.
Interesting national meeting today discussing high-value, high-skill specialist volunteering in policing. Engaging volunteers with professional skills from outside of policing. There had never been a moment when this has been more needed.
