That whole article has me wanting to write down my thoughts on the Sonic series and its fandom but Idk where I would put that. I dont want to clog up my feed with a thread when my accounts are primarily for art

aside from crossworlds, Amy's character has struck a fine balance of having heart, maturity and being wild.
Not to mention how no other character, not even Shadow, who I think is the most inconsistent character in IDW get's nearly the same amount of scrutiny than Sonic, Amy and Lanolin.
And their criticisms less than make sense.
They're hypocritical.
"Sonic is too wordy" even though he has been all his time, ESPECIALLY in the 2000's
"Amy's just the girl now and Ian's a misogynist" even though Amy's character past sa2 was reduced to a one note joke. Not even mentioning how-
...no, longer than that, when the franchise was at its worst place yet, 90's sonic fans were screaming and complaining about "le good old days", deriding everything that came after. Now it's happened again with 2000s fans and I bet you it's gonna happen again with 2010 fans.
I have a lot to say but I honestly dont know where to even begin... so I'll say that yeah you've practically hit the nail on the head. Your article mentioned purism in the fandom. I not only agree but want to take it a step further; What pure Sonic?
