Made a super quick trip to Bryson City, NC yesterday to purchase a banjo from Frank Lee. This is the banjo he’s playing in this video, and is the banjo he played on all the old Freight Hoppers records. 12 hours of driving in 1 day? I’m getting too old for this!🤣

Real cool handmade bone tailpiece I found in an old case this week. Pity it’s broken.

The hard part is attaching it. I just use a staple gun. Works well. You just want it as tight as you can get it. When it dries it gets real tight.

They go quick. Doing the head was a trick at first, but once you get that they’re pretty quick and fun to make
