What’s interesting here is they say “culture” when they mean “people” but they think that this maintains a veneer of deniability about what they’re really saying. In any case it’s true that the “culture” of the tech billionaires is morally and intellectually depraved rot bsky.app/profile/elio...

When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.

Palantir put out the most cartoonishly evil statement possible. They’re so arrogant and self-confident they don’t seem to believe their fascistic plans can be opposed.

We must get rid of Palantir altogether.

I hate every single senator who allowed this to happen. Hate, with all the venom of my heart. May they never know peace.

The Boundary Waters is a truly magical place. Twin Metals are such incredible bastards for seeking this. May they live in fear of the consequences of their actions.

Perfect. Risk a environmentally sensitive area for foreign interests, putting 4500 jobs at risk to create 250 jobs that only last 20 years. Absolutely brilliant 👍

Excited to attend the ribbon-cutting for the next segment of California’s solar canal initiative later this month in Hickman. Imagine generating solar power over 4,000 miles or so canals across the state. A lot of Sierra and Colorado River water to save via avoided evaporation.

It is hard to capture what a sweeping strategic defeat the war in Iran has been for the United States. I’m going to thread here some of the posts today that try to capture those effects. Here’s the first:

I hate having to do the "look, they're normal just like us" post, but sometimes you have to do that when American propaganda tries to convince everyone Iranians are "animals".

Sam Altman May Control Our Future—Can He Be Trusted? New interviews and closely guarded documents shed light on the persistent doubts about the head of OpenAI.

The economy is in shambles, House Republicans have still not agreed to the common-sense DHS deal, and now the President is threatening to "kill a whole civilization" in Iran.

Speaker Johnson, please call the House back into session. The world can not wait till Tuesday!

I was on the floor of the Chicago Board of Options Exchange when news broke that the U.S. had killed Saddam Hussein’s two sons.

The outpourings of cheer that ensued were loud, widespread, and deeply unsettling.

All of that said, I do think gathering matters. Protest matters. Being among people who believe as you do and want this to stop matters. The best way to hold onto our humanity is to hold onto each other. So, if you can march or even light a candle in the company of others, I would do so.

Earthset captured through the Orion spacecraft window at 6:41 p.m. EDT, April 6, 2026, during the Artemis II crew’s flyby of the Moon. A muted blue Earth with bright white clouds sets behind the cratered lunar surface. The dark portion of Earth is experiencing nighttime. On Earth’s day side, swirling clouds are visible over the Australia and Oceania region. In the foreground, Ohm crater has terraced edges and a flat floor interrupted by central peaks. Central peaks form in complex craters when the lunar surface, liquefied on impact, splashes upwards during the crater’s formation.

NASA's first image from the Artemis II close flyby of the moon shows "Earthset," with a crescent Earth seen over the moon's cratered surface.
