The Missing Bundler Features Over the last few months, there has been a lot of talk about making Bundler faster, both by improving it directly, or by reimplementing it in another language, and while it may surprise some, that did...

I wrote some more as a way to fight jet lag, hopefully it's still readable 😅: byroot.github.io/ruby/bundler...

In a head-on car crash in a small Renault Clio and the opposing Toyota Landcruiser went over my roof and rolled over. The most fictional element was that I survived

Welch Labs finally ship to the UK, which means in a couple of weeks I will be the proud and awed owner of a physical copy of www.welchlabs.com/resources/ai....

It looks like one of the most beautiful books ever produced.

Bought! Maybe weird but mostly because it's _not_ exclusively about the current crop of AI models. Like the perceptron and back propagation were in my AI classes back in '95!

Values Aren’t a Moral Imperative Credit: pxhere One of the most impactful exercises in DRI Your Career has been the values exercise (Jean wrote about it here). At first this surprised me, but then I thought about it more. Even when you haven't named your values, they are part of you. They shape how you see the world, and often feel like moral imperatives.

Most values conflicts aren't about right and wrong - they're about prioritization. Two people can share the same values and still end up in conflict. They just put them in a different order that day.

Any instagram post I saw either for/against the protests, or even just reporting the traffic situation, was filled with comments from private accounts with 0 posts, few followers, and usually a name with 77 or 78 in it.

Clearly bots running the standard "sow division" political playbook

Not sure I want a Pope that's "strong on nuclear weapons". That's just a little too much wrath of god for me

Randomly threw on an 80’s rock playlist and the first two tracks were Genesis’ Land of Confusion and Magnum’s Don’t Wake the Lion.

It reminds me that, even as a teenager, the world felt like it was on the precipice of something very very bad—just like now—but hope came quite quickly—like soon? 🤞

Honestly BlueSky is quiet enough that I think I’d encourage anyone to keep posting. If you add a hashtag, people can mute it if they want

Populism is a fundamentally dishonest form of politics, that attracts fundamentally dishonest people.

It is a tissue of lies that validates the darkest prejudices, and covers up the most blatant greed and corruption.

It generates wealth for the few, and suffering for the many.
