I’ve been really diving into fiber arts lately, which is why I haven’t had a ton of finished art to share - knitting & sewing take a long time! But I’m hoping to work at capturing more in-progress shots in the coming days.
exactly, you get it!
Makes me feel so tired! I saw a standee for this movie the last time I was at the theater and my friends basically had to drag me away so I would stop pointing out how poorly executed the logo is (and how inconsistent it’s been historically)
Got so excited because for a second I lived in a world where the Criterion Closet would be in Dallas, Texas
Me: oh weird who’s birthday or anniversary is this? I don’t know a Luke
Me after clicking on the link: but how could I forget my bestie Luke Skywalker and his boots the house down moment!
Honestly should be a worldwide holiday
Some of y’all never got an approving nod from your local comic book store clerk and it shows
HAPPY TWO DECADES OF NEIL BANGING OUT THE TUNES!
Just let out a random “OH MY GOD. WOW!” and then had to explain to my coworkers what a big deal it is to me in particular that this one specific music video director who has done some pretty cool stuff ALSO DESIGNED GENERAL GRIEVOUS?!?
check yo self before you dox yo self
after a quick review of my timeline i feel the need to point to the sign
I have become so known among my friends as an advocate for taking classes & workshops that a few years back my bestie EJ included me in an illustration they did about their friends favorite qualities (Posted with permission, here’s a link to the og post: www.instagram.com/p/DEQINalx5EN/)
I love taking local classes & workshops so much! I really think if you have the resources to do so, it’s never a bad thing to learn something new or work towards mastery on a technique you’re struggling with on your own. (1/2)
Who up exploding their rivioli
Thinking about Friday when my friend in Toronto dmed us that there had been an explosion nearby they had just heard, and then as soon as we heard that no one had got hurt, it was revealed that it was on the same street that most of nirvanna the band the show the movie was on
You’ve put so much of what I feel as a bipolar artist into words! I’m happy you shared
Just realized Russian roulette is on here twice. I guess that tracks because it truly had done the most for my mental health since it came out
A poem that brought me comfort then & still does now:
to live in this world
you must be able
to do three things
to love what is mortal;
to hold it
against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go

Friday was a year since we said goodbye to my best girl Biscuit. Even though 5 years will always feel like it was never enough, I will be forever grateful for the time we spent together and the lessons she taught me about myself, and how to exist in this world.
Another variation of this is how Gabriella Montez (of High School Musical fame) would have been at Stanford in 2008, which canonically overlaps with when Tashi Duncan and Art Donaldson (of Challengers fame) were there
photograph or a poster on cream colored paper. "Dear President Ambar, we are writing to you on a typewriter that is over 70 years old. This is a machine that we all know well. With it, we misspell words without the crutch of spell check or generative AI and we think intently about every phrase we pound out. As we force ourselves, for once, to slow down, we engage in a cognitive dialogue with ourselves. We do not seek perfection because we know that education is about the growing and challenging of our young minds' potential, not the chasing of institutional 'gold-star' approval. We do not believe that your so-called 'Year of AI Exploration; providing enterprise ChatGPT and Google Gemini subscriptions to every Oberlin student aligns with our college's founding principles. You claim that this year will be one of experimentation, not adoption. But even just one semester of accepted (encouraged even) chat bot use will jettison our student body down a lazy and irredeemable tunnel of intellectual destruction. We are a college grounded in learning and labor, which now risks straying from these rooted ideals. With ChatGPT at the helm, our emails, essays,and discussion posts will be generated for us, not by us. And let's not fool ourselves. This is precisely what these platforms will be used for by our busy, anxious student body. We see your vision for this year as.advancing the college's 'businessification'--an alarming trend also seen in the takeover of our beloved library cafe by a 'bookstore' with no books in stock and an app replacing customer service. In one instance, the college assumes we want efficiency at all costs through automated rather than hand pulled coffee. In the other lies the false belief that we simply desire to turn in an essay, regardless of how little we've written of it." there's more that doesn't fit in the 2000 character limit :(
OH MY HEART...the Oberlin Luddites Reject "The Year of AI Exploration"! 💚

you are loved, and we will win
I just want all artists to succeed and make cool shit. I want a world where all artists could just make so much art that every story can find its audience and every audience can find its story. I just want to live in a world where we can all bask in the joy of getting to make and participate in art.
Found this gem today
Yes it’s because of eczema but let me have this
