sinners best movie of all time and forever

Also all due respect to Golden but the entirety of Sinners sits on how good I Lied To You is and it not only holds it up it lifts the movie to new heights. Should have won hands down

not a surprising outcome but OBAA was a technically great film with some awesome performances that lacked cohesion and fizzled out in the second half. Sinners was an all timer, a masterpiece on a surface level that was also a masterful commentary on race in America. the wrong film won.

A big takeaway this year has to be that Sinners and One Battle After Another were big, artist driven, swings bankrolled by WB whose future is ultimately unclear. I like living in a world where people like PTA and Ryan Coogler get to make the films they want to make with those resources.
