Building your own product is a rollercoaster 🙃
The Expo SDK crossed 3MM downloads per week a few days ago.

When the Supreme Court allowed immigration agents to consider race during sweeps, Justice Brett Kavanaugh said that citizens shouldn’t be concerned because agents will “promptly let the individual go.”
For these Americans, that wasn’t true.

It's sort of funny when codex/claude give you time estimates of how long something should take, like 2 weeks, and then does that thing in 25 minutes.

happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.
Screenshot of a TikTok video with error message at top saying “your video is under review and can’t be shared right now.”
This morning, I recorded a video on TikTok about why DHS’s arguments for the power to enter homes without judicial warrants in immigration cases are bunk.
Nine hours later, TikTok still says my video is “under review,” and can’t be shared.
Well, here’s a link:

A nurse. A researcher. A helper.
ICE is straight up executing people for no reason other than to create fear. We have to get it disbanded and prosecute the leadership and its thugs.
Imagine how much they’d be lying about what happened without all the videos showing it from multiple angles.
an administration staffed to the top with degenerate liars
Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.
I think TestFlight reviews are taking longer than they used to because so many people are using Expo Launch.

🎄 Day 21 of the React Native Advent Calendar!
Behind today’s door: React Native Starter Stack 🎁
I’m sharing my opinionated React Native starter stack for 2026 with the exact tools I'd use if I started a new app today.

Built a mention selector with @expo.dev Liquid Glass + Reanimated
What are the things you tried to do that you found the most confusing?
The way I think about RN is that it gives you access to the native platform layer — either w a JS API but also by letting you drop down when you want to. In my experience most large software systems in native code end up having a scripting system in them. But obviously do things the way you prefer !
What gives you an ick about it

NuTrak needed iOS and Android without double work.
We used React Native and one shared codebase.
Fast delivery. Native feel. Easier updates.
