'I had no-one to talk to': The 92yo trying to save his dying language Peter is the last living speaker of the First Nations language Thiinma. When he met linguist Rosie, they used music to help keep his knowledge alive, and formed a beautiful friendship along the way.

Imagine being 92 years old, the last person to exist who can speak your language, writing a song in that language with other musicians and then performing it. This is what it looks and sounds like...

In Shanghai right now there is a “mega” factory and a “giga” factory.
I was at the “giga” one last week and wondering about these titles which essentially mean “Super Dooper Factory” or “Splendiferous Factory”.

Solar is delivering the equivalent of 27 nuclear plants during the day. Pumped hydro stores ~3 nuclear plants worth. Batteries already stepping in.

This isn’t a generation problem anymore. It’s storage scale.

Energy scarcity → energy timing. #BESS #Solar

The University of Technology in Sydney is poised to close community radio station 2SER-FM. Here's my opinion piece in the Sydney Morning Herald, arguing that it would be pure folly to do so.

I’m a China correspondent for the BBC (formerly ABC); I worked on the ABC’s AM, PM and The World Today; I reported for Four Corners and Lateline on the ABC & where did all this start? Sydney’s 2SER radio. The loss of 2SER would be utterly terrible. It’s too depressing to consider. Come on!

So many great people came through 2SER. And now the Uni of Technology is threatening to have it shuttered. It's dire. I'll have a petition page for you in the next day or so. We'd love your suupport.

It’s costs hardly anything to keep it running, especially when you consider the prestige it brings to the university, the incredible teaching platform it offers, the widespread community interaction delivered between the community and #UTS, the public service etc etc

This is utterly pathetic ideological misinformation from a Murdoch tabloid. I mean this campaign journalism is such boring crap. There are amazing electric trucks and “truckies” would be lucky to have one. But don’t worry #Australia, no need to get ahead with technology, remain losers.
