fuck sam altman forever for taking away the last places where we could engage in good faith: the creative arts, which should be a testament to human ingenuity. i am so mad that everything i read or listen to or admire is now tainted with doubt. do you understand? he is a thief of joy and i HATE HIM

The part about Mamdani not being always correct is important. Because he's gonna fuck up and make mistakes (like with the library budget thing) and we rightfully need to hold his feet to the fire for that.
But like. This is socialism. We want this for everyone.
You guys call leftists purity testers and all this other shit. You call us pinkos and denigrate us and extremists and all this.
We want your fucking kids to go to school and eat healthy meals and grow up and be safe and have jobs and not be institutionally murdered by the state.
Humble yourselves.
Let's call this policy what this is.
It's socialism. It's Leftism. And it's curing actual ills. Righting institutional wrongs.
It's not coming from someone who is infallible, or someone who is always correct.
It's coming from someone who promised to help and is trying to keep those promises.
The issue with many "cozy" games is they're so vibes-focused, they lose sight of the CONTENT of the media they're emulating. Yes, "The Wind in the Willows" involves sitting around drinking tea, but it also includes such heartwarming episodes as "Mr. Toad steals a car" and "Rat and Mole meet God".
[dunking on github, but it involves AI/LLM]
it is impressive that github's downtime situation has gotten SO bad that:
1) they've suspended signing up for PAID llm usage. they cannot take your money because they know they can't deliver
2) if you are already a customer on the middle tier, they […]
Everyone's focusing on how this is pure idiocy (which it is) but as someone not in US this looks like a positive event to me. Letting the imperialist military be brought low to the ravages of disease outbreaks is a boon to the rest of the world
this will sound incredibly silly to anyone under like 30, but it is so weird that the 70s and 90s are only 20 years apart
Goals for year. And last year. And year before. And year before that. And....
Well I'm starting to lose faith in my goals 🙃
This article is weird. France isn't switching to Linux because Windows is bad - it's switching because Microsoft is a US company, US companies fall under US law, and thus simply cannot be trusted with EU data. Windows can't "solve" this. There's no "fix" here.

Yeah I'm really enjoying the gameplay I went in thinking hacking while shooting would be hard but its surprisingly satisfying and not that hard to have a fun time
this might be controversial but i think girls should fall in love with girls
Like this is what I want to see more of in big budget games, just characters hanging out having a good time together, character growth, some fun gameplay, cool setting. Not every story needs to be Expedition 33 (not that it's a bad thing). And not cozy plotless, just more breathing room with chars
Like both characters could have been overdone annoying tropes but they manage to just be charming a charming dad daughter duo with kid being smart yet still playful kid and the dad surrogate dad just being the most well adjusted and chill man in video games who's just having a good time becoming dad
I was going to avoid yet another dad game but the reviews were good and its a non live service game so I checked out Pragmata and its pretty good y'all. I was expecting to dislike both the dude Mc and young girl but it's charming and chill they just hanging out together with some enjoyable combat
I think the reason I’m responding well to Pragmata is because it doesn’t pull maudlin shit. Sometimes a story is characters hanging out.
I think the PS4 era cemented the idea that melodrama equals story into the minds of gamers harder than any other specific time period, often to the detriment of storytelling, and it’s gonna take years to unlearn that.
I genuinely think it’s because it makes them feel smart, like they “programmed an AI” or whatever. It’s loathsome!

it’s very weird, as a creative myself, to see other creatives who are proudly telling the world how much they loathe their craft and the process of making things.
Wow you created an entire Claude “skill sheet” of your “voice”? Why not use the free one that lives inside your brain
Every time I read a piece about somebody with an “ai-assisted editing process” I feel like I’m watching someone trying to intellectualize a deliberate choice not to think or concentrate
a black and white design that reads "you could learn a lot from a lesbian." to the right of the text are various items such as carabiners, a boot, a lollipop, a hammer, a boot, an apple, a lighter, cherries, a bouquet of flowers, a butterfly wing, and many stars. the entire image is textured to be grainy.
happy #lesbianvisibilityweek!
A digital illustration of two japanese lesbians flirting in a queer underground bar in the 80s. One of them wears a blue jacket, the other a suit, while in the background there's liquor and a multitude of little stickers and illustrations of lesbian and queer marks.
The full illustration I did for @taplingzines.bsky.social "We've Always Been Here"
The zine depicts queer couples throughout cultures and history and I had the honours of portraying a Japanese lesbian couple in an underground bar during the 80s✨

A pink background decorated with rainbows and dashed lines in the colors of the lesbian pride flag. The text reads, “Lesbian Visibility Week Bundle; 94 sapphic & lesbian books for $40 USD; 4/20 - 4/26; exclusively on Itch.io”
Hello BlueSky.
Do you like lesbians? Of course you do. You're on BlueSky.
You can get 94 sapphic and lesbian books for just $40 all week next week. It includes Kotov Syndrome and Woodpusher, as well as many books more famous than mine. I am very excited to get it.

On this day in 2019, I witnessed one of the coolest things ever. A lenticular cloud lit-up by a setting sun over the Perito Morena Glacier in Argentina.
Wizards saw the bury your gays trope and decided it was too on the nose for a game that once had bury as a keyword on cards so just yeeted their gays into the offscreen closet instead
Lynne Thigpen as "The Chief" from Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego
Lock the fuck in, Gumshoes. Carmen Sandiego stole a priceless wax pressing of "One of These Nights" by the Eagles. You've got to stop her before she travels back in time to 149 BC Carthage and trades it to Scipio Africanus the Younger for a kilo of the good shit.
