I remember loving this game back in the day, I don’t think I ever finished it though. Would be great to see this come to NSO Expansion Pack, but I’m not holding my breath.

As a final thought, I’ll just say that while watching both of these Illumination Mario movies I feel a sense of happiness and joy similar to how I experience the Mario games, and I think ultimately that’s the feeling they’re aiming to evoke. In that way they’re a pleasure to watch!

Oh yeah also, Brian Tyler once again killed it with the soundtrack! So many great musical themes and references, along with his own cool themes. I loved both soundtracks, but this is one area where Galaxy definitely surpassed the first movie. And far less licensed music, which is much appreciated!

Overall I love both movies at least equally. So far Galaxy might rank slightly higher for me, but I have to see it a few more times to see if it holds up as well as the first one does.

I do understand the complaints about not enough Rosalina and/or “Galaxy” moments. I expected it to be taking inspiration from many Mario games, but I agree it would’ve been nice to see more Galaxy stuff from the games. I love all the Fox stuff though, I think Glenn Powell did a great portrayal!

I think many people are hung up on the “shallow” story…I’m not sure these people really understand what the movie is and isn’t. Neither movie have amazingly deep stories, but they’re super entertaining and filled to the brim with fan service, which is what I personally want from these films.

As for the movie itself, I loved seeing it both times! It definitely seems like it’ll hold up to repeat viewings. I don’t understand the negativity out there. I know obviously the critic reviews are crap, not surprising. But I’ve seen a fair number of fans who are disappointed too.

Wow! I just saw The Super Mario Galaxy Movie for the 2nd time, this time in 4DX! It was my first experience with 4DX, and it was pretty damn cool! Really enjoyed all the movement and effects, it made an already great movie that much more enjoyable.
