Sunny 16 is a general rule of thumb when shooting outdoors where you try to best match your shutter speed to your ISO
(1/125 for 100, 1/250 for 200, so on) and then setting your aperture based off the weather

A lot of people already hit the nail on the head on metering for the shadows for negative film, etc.
I would add, learn the sunny 16 rule. Super helpful when working on cameras that don't have a/working light meter.
AE-1 is a good first film camera.

Gotta love film. Would have been an amazing photo

I don't mind the light burn on the bottom. Just the random double exposure and the random artifacts bugs the hell out of me.

Maybe I'll hit up someone good at photoshop to save it

I remember my dad piloted these during in his time in the Guard. 10 years later, and they're still calling him and asking if he wants to come back.
Now here I am. Funny how roads in life can get passed down a generation without being hereditary whatsoever.
