While Watanuki is passed out on Yuuko’s lap, she says “You don’t only belong to yourself, you know. I doubt there is a single person in this world who belongs only to himself. When someone makes a connection… There is always something shared. And so people will never be completely free. It’s that which brings out fun… and sadness…”
“…And love.”
Watanuki is with his first customer in the kitchen. He says “Wanting someone else to eat the things you have cooked is the same as wanting that person to know you. I figured eating your own cooking is a way of getting to know yourself.”
Haruka and Watanuki sit on the porch together in Dreams. Haruka tells a story: “One day, a man had a dream. He dreamed that he was a butterfly. He fluttered and fluttered, flew and flew. He so loved the feeling of freedom… that he decided that he *was* a butterfly. But when he woke up, he wasn’t a butterfly. He was a human after all. Then the man thought… I wonder if I, the man, dreamed that I was a butterfly… or if this moment is truly the dream. Maybe the man I am now is a dream that a butterfly is having.”
Haruka adds his own personal comment after the story that “Even if this is a dream… if there are things you believe in; things you wish for; and ones that you love, this world may become the truth. The butterfly that you know well has had that dream for a long time.”
Shards of panels show complicated expressions of Kurogane, C!Sakura, Fai, and Syaoran (from however you want to interpret them, horribly sad, beaten-down to determined). Yuuko says “It is true that many things have been lost… and yet, many other things have been born of it. Therefore, what happens now should also be your choice.”
Watanuki sits with Haruka on the porch in Dreams, and says with regret “I never… intended to put a look like that on Yuuko-san’s face…” Haruka replies “It’s because she knows better than anyone else.” Watanuki asks “Knows? Knows what?”
Over a background of smoke and falling sakura petals, Haruka continues explaining “That the only things that can be given without a price to be paid… are one’s own feelings.”
Kurogane grips his empty sleeve while Fai holds his last remaining magic. Fai says “I won’t hand over anything that amounts… to giving my life away. Not anymore.” Everyone is content; Kurogane and Syaoran look very approving, and Fai has a soft smile.
Syaoran is sitting up in his library recovery bed. Kurogane grabs his arm and says “Just because you know it… doesn’t mean that my wounds are a weight that you have to carry.”
The castle in the sky is crumbling around them and Syaoran is telling Ashura “”It is not in anyone’s power to bring the dead back to life. Not even those we call gods.” That’s what my father told me. “And because our time is limited… You have to give everything you have, and live for those things you believe in.” That’s what he said.”
Yuuko says “Often people will deny the existence of things they can’t understand or things their minds cant grasp. If they encounter anything that doesn’t match the world they wish to live in, they decide that it is evil. If they didn’t know, and had simply said, “I don’t know”… It would be better for all.”
Watanuki is tied up in a web. Jorougumo explains to him: “You hold in disgust those who would hurt others… and yet you do it yourself. Looking at the scars you’ve allowed to be inflicted on yourself, I can’t imagine the mount of scars your actions have inflicted on others.”
A surprised Princess Tomoyo asks Kurogane “You aren’t going to be angry at me for not telling you earlier?” Reflective Kurogane replies “The guy who isn’t in the know can’t understand… how hard it is to be in the know and still not say. It’s stupid to attack something I don’t understand.”
In Dreams, an ethereal Sakura says to an injured Watanuki: “I know that I can’t do anything for you, but… Tell me about it. Allow me to worry for you.”
Akari, an “odd-looking cat wearing a kimono” (according to Watanuki), is gifting a giant houzuki to Watanuki, and says “Still… Do your best. And little by little the changes should come. A variety of changes.”
Sakura, in Dreams, says “You know… Everything will be all right.”
Yuuko says to Watanuki: “The only one who can say ‘It’s nothing to be concerned about,’ is the one most grieved.”
Watanuki sits and listens, concerned, as Yuuko tells him “From one perspective, it’s nothing to be concerned about, and from another, it’s the weightiest of concerns. In most cases, the one who inflicted damage gets off better than the victim.”
Yuuko is in the pouring rain after sending off Syaoran, wearing her Tsubasa outfit, and says to Watanuki “Instead of regretting what we cannot do… It is better to do what one can. Even if, for example, what you do has nothing to do with the results… You must forge forward.”
Watanuki says to his customer “Because we may never meet again. Just because we met today doesn’t guarantee that we’ll be able to meet tomorrow. Right now. This moment… There will never be another moment like it again. I’ve met a lot of people, working in this shop, and through them I’ve come to understand that. Besides…”

The black tendrils of Time are taking Yuuko, and she says to Watanuki “I wish for you to exist. Just that would be enough.”
With concern, Sakura earnestly says to Fai “Then… from now on… I want you to treat yourself as the most important person in your life. Please promise me.” Fai is stunned and just says “Sakura-chan…”
Watanuki tells his student “It’s a frightening thing to know yourself. On the other hand, to live your life not knowing anything… is for me much, much more terrifying.”
Older sister says to Watanuki “But recently, I’ve decided to start saying ‘I’ll never know until I try.’ And since then, even if it’s just a little, I haven’t failed as much as I used to. It could be just my imagination, though…” Watanuki happily replies “Great, then this time, why don’t you try saying this… Not, ‘You never know,’ but rather, ‘It’s sure to go well!’”
Yuuko says to Watanuki “Yes, they’re scary, you know. These words. You can’t take them back once they’ve left your mouth. You can’t act as if they were never said. And without knowing how tightly they can bind… people continued to use these chains. ‘Words’ have life. And in time, they can even bind one’s way of life.”
Yuuko is comfortably sprawled and smoking, Watanuki asks “Then what you were saying… about how there are bonds only people can use… ‘words’?”
Yuuko and Watanuki sit across from each other. Yuuko says “All choices are merely a step in a process that continues onward. One must continue to choose… one’s own future.”
As Watanuki walks away from him, Doumeki says to himself “It’s all right to be lost. Being lost… It’s because you’re human. People get lost sometimes.”
Kurogane and Tomoyo stepped outside during the celebration in Piffle. Tomoyo gently takes Kurogane’s injured hand and says “Please don’t resist too much. Allow yourself to heal.”
“…And love.”
