An electric utility in 2026 is a balancing operation. This is how we explain it...

I confess I fit that profile. I burn a wood stove on occasion in the winter.
I think the first lesson here is that we need to stop burning things, anything, any more than we have to: sologi.co/4by95Lu
How might we build a clean energy future?

Yesterday was Canada’s #OvershootDay, the date when Earth’s yearly resources would be used up if everyone lived like Canadians.
Our energy use is nearly 3x the global average, and we generate some of the highest waste per person in the world.
Overshoot Day is one date; what we do next matters.
First new skis I’ve bought since the ’80s. Last time I bought a pair was used at Play It Again in Ottawa (the day the convoy rolled in). This time it’s Ferreol Explo 86s 🇨🇦 from Québec (avec 🇫🇷 Look Pivots), built for the icy Eastern hills we ski here: sologi.co/4rgu8Xu
Half of the US hates the other. Hard to solve any big American problem until they solve that one.
Great to see 🇨🇦 on the right end of this list.
Watch every new social platform, in need of our attention for ads, discover the two critical success factors for social media profits:
1. Friction between users
2. Users need to organize themselves into groups or "tribes".
Which of these are good for society?

What is the penalty to @saintjohn.ca if they don't do their snow clearing part?
Canadians have been AI bots this whole time. 😂

A reason to go to Tim Hortons! Because I'd never go there for the "coffee"
I don't know what NB Health Link is and the information on their website doesn't get me any closer. I can open Maple and initiate care immediately, easily, and that's what I'm talking about when I say usability. A service that people can't or don't want to use is no service.
Losing Maple in NB is a big shift. I’m optimistic a new app tied into 811 can work if usability comes first. For those of us years without a family doctor, virtual care has been our only doorway into the system. That door can’t get smaller. #nbpoli #nbhealth
#PeakAlert: We are hitting our energy demand peak! Now is the time to reduce your electricity usage, if you are able to, to help shave off the peak! #ShaveThePeak
⚠️ PEAK ENERGY ALERT: Cold temps + low wind tomorrow morning means we need your help to #ShaveThePeak, Saint John! Please reduce energy when you wake up:

Wouldn't this be a dream come true: having fossil fuel companies & executives pay for climate damage since they've known all along fossil fuels are the cause; & having a #GlobalWealthTax on the obscenely rich, who couldn't spend all their money if they tried? www.theguardian.com/environment/...

A positive sign for our Fredericton friends. Every Canadian community needs a good swimming facility. The L.B. pool was decades too old when I showed up there in the early 90s and the antiqueness of the pool I was going to train in was a big novelty. Build a pool already, Freddy Beach!
The Burchill wind farm is doing the heavy lifting in today’s deep freeze and snowstorm, producing nearly 42 MW of renewable power for Saint John homes and businesses.

No podcasts to listen to today. 100% of what I subscribe to is captured by the meltdown in the Divided States.
This show sucks now. Such a sad show.
