just hit the late night "family conference" in E4. still puzzling over something. all the way back in Episode 1, Rudolf told Kyrie that he thought he might die that night. or at least, that's what Kyrie relayed to Battler..? with all the chaos afterwards, we've never followed that thread...
i can't be that mad. the pieces were all there. we were warned this was how she'd operate. i was too human
the despicable evil white woman has done it again.
i have been played like a fool.
this section fucking rules. easily a high point in the story so far. we've been building towards exactly this confrontation of values for hours and hours
i can't believe it. my cruel despicable gaslighting ragebaiting queen has been outdone. this is what patriarchal family structures will do to a young girl (umineko spoilers)
iirc my issues with the show the first time around were mostly about pacing and Certain Plot Threads that were left hanging. i'm interested to see how i'll feel about them this time.
I love that the show takes Nina's issues seriously enough to not invalidate her insecurity and her distrust towards the motivations of others, but also isn't afraid to say that hey, you know it's actually pretty rude to assume that everyone is out to hurt you in some way, right?
i'm introducing Girls Band Cry to my friends which means i'm rewatching it for the first time, and goodness i forgot how much i love Iseri Nina as a character. she is SUCH a difficult but well-meaning asshole in a way that instantly makes me feel 17 again.
finished my reading backlog so i picked Umineko back up again and got to Episode 2. every interaction between Maria and her mother is. harrowing. what do you mean this is why papa's business trip never ends
patlabor episode 3: okay.
i'm going into this series essentially blind! no idea if this is coincidence or part of A Larger Point
very funny that the first two episodes of Patlabor (1988) both have problems that did not at all require mechs to resolve. in fact, the mechs arguably made the situation worse
A fake Polaroid photo of Wires, a demon with tall black horns and long ears, wearing a red shirt sitting at a desk surrounded by plants. Her tail comes out of the Polaroid and rests on top of the frame. A doodle of a heart and "Mar '26" is written on the bottom.
maybe the sunlight in hell is alright

we must remain strong.
I just went to use my garlic and literally all my cloves are rotting. What evil have you brought to my kitchen Ruxy
EIGHTY SIX MENTION RAHHH!!!!!!! I've GOTTA get to the LNs at some point. I fell in love with the show and introduced it to all my friends, but I felt like the ending was so good that I'm kinda afraid to see what comes after.
Amazin Ikoku Nikki again!
But more importantly, I can't understate how this is exactly the show many have lamented for ages doesn't exist. All about the human condition, explored not just through the youth but also diverse, highly specific adults. It's quite literally on you if you're not watching
wow ! how much for six

come find me in the field beneath the clouds

funnily enough, the first episode of S2 has been much better than most of S1. Melissa McBride as Carol has a charisma i wasn't expecting (i didn't really watch TWD past season 3).
