North Atlantic traffic, heading west.
Yes please.
It would depend on their performance calculation. Need to know if the FR24 position showing departure on Rwy23 from R4 (1884m available) is accurate.
Is this position accurate? Did it depart halfway down the runway?
The Giza Pyramid complex from 40,000 feet.
An Emirates 380 in Dubai Expo colours overtaking our flight as we both approach the Egyptian coast.
Finally saw the Giza Pyramids from the air today - over the years it’s either been dark or the route was too far away. Bonus air to air picture of an Emirates A380 (Expo 2020 livery?) as we approached Alexandria. The A380 was at FL380 and we were at FL400
Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
In the current geopolitical environment, I’d be surprised to see Poland choosing Boeing.
We don’t normally observe any navigation issues during aurora. GPS is unaffected and we use the standby compass in emergencies only. Flying that far north often means using true north rather than magnetic north, but this is handled automatically by the aircraft systems.
Northern Lights as we route towards the Arctic Circle flying back to London from Tokyo. These were seen over Alaska near Anchorage (-25degC) and Fairbanks (-35degC!)
Sometimes the simple solutions are the best.
Getting ready to go to Tokyo. 13 hours and 20 mins.
Spot the difference? These are the same make and model of engine (Rolls Royce Trent 1000) on pre-delivered aircraft. The cone is made from titanium and undergoes a change of colour to a striking blue after a few heat cycles.
Some techy pictures from pre-delivery activities earlier this year. The under cowl workings of a RR Trent 1000, and clean and sparkly landing gear.
Sunrise through the HUD.
Welcome from the other place. Come on in, the water’s lovely.
