I've met a lot of cool folks throughout the journey and I'll always be grateful for that. Even if I'm no longer competing, we're all still friends and on good terms.

Since the comp Splatoon team I was on is no longer active and I don't think I'll be joining another team, I'm just not doing comp anymore.

It was fun while it lasted, but I have other things to focus on now.

It is true that Season 1 managed to subvert my expectations. Still though, I am kinda concerned how Season 2 will turn out, but if they can pull it off again despite my skepticism then it will get the same reaction that Season 1 got out of me.

Well he did say in Shenmue 2 that Fangmei's eyes remind him of a cat, so I'd say the bird comment is pretty in character.
