i am not here to be convinced that v3 was good actually. i dont know you, you can interpret the game however you want.

i have to play this game purely because i dont want uchikoshi to be bankrupt because of it but i do not think this game is going to be good and everyone planning on investing their time in it, enjoy the next 4-5 years of your life ig

also i think its bold to say all these endings have to be substantial and matter coming from the guy who couldnt bother to write an actual throughline for v3 because it was so player hostile that you were never meant to find any meaning in the story because its all a ruse to waste. your. time.

vlr has roughly 18~ endings and about half of them are one choice away from a real ending. aisf has 5 major endings. both of these experiences are roughly 35-50 hours depending on how completionist you are.

this game having 99 endings would mean it is the stupidest investment of time ever

also, he famously lied during a lot of marketing for the game to hide the "twists" which led to a false perception of what the game was going to be. also even if theyre are 99 fucking endings thats asinine and i sincerely doubt theyre all "substantial endings" because theres no fucking way

idc if kodaka said that the games gonna have 99 endings. i dont think anyone should trust anything that comes out of the mouth of the lead developer of drv3, a game that famously lies to you the whole time about what its about or what its point is

999 i will still heartly recommend to puzzle nerds, especially the pc/ps4 port with added flow chart and voice over. if one because junpei in it is like, my favorite new va in years. but for vlr unless youre like, /really/ into puzzles its a lot to go through. terrible game to stream blind for sure

my big thing is at some point here im finally gonna play zero time dilemma, which even though i got that game at time of launch (gifted) ive never touched it, just know it has mixed opinions. i kinda hope i like it more than most people? in that i at least dont love vlr on a replay

to elaborate aisf takes game construction concepts from this in a more player-friendly way. the tone of this game is way harsher to me now, probably bc of things ive played like v3.

i really enjoy the secret ending though. and id say if you care about story this game doesnt really. end without it
