So thankful to live in a country where I feel like I have a voice and I can make a difference. 🇨🇦

Now as a Canadian, I am very invested and have made sure to educate myself. So much so that I was explaining what's going on politically to my Canadian MIL. (She currently lives in the States but hopefully will be able to move home in the next few years). 🧵

It's funny how much can change in just a few years. For most of my adult life, I was non-political. Partly due to the fact that having a political difference of opinion in my family wasn't allowed as well as being disenfranchised with the US system. (Looking at you TX with your Gerrymandering). 🧵

The good thing about last night's discovery is that I finally booked a consultation with a therapist.

Sitting with heavy thoughts tonight as something I'd thought for many years was confirmed. The patriarchal christian fundamentalist bs that I was raised in keeps coming back to haunt me and there are so many reasons I will have nothing to do with it again. My mother deserved better.
