The freeze watch initially issued for counties in far northwest VA has now been expanded into the western side of #RVA (Hanover, Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Powhatan, Goochland, etc).

* **Central Virginia:** The **Richmond** and **Hanover** areas are currently clear of the main precipitation band, though isolated light echoes are beginning to develop to the west near **Goochland** and **Powhatan**.
* **Southwest Virginia:** Areas like **Charlottesville** and **Louisa** are currently situated south of the main moisture field.

Sharply cooler tomorrow with a few spotty light showers possible; mid 30s Monday morning before we warm up again the rest of the week. Thankfully no 90s in sight though.

In addition to the freeze warning across northwest/northern #Virginia, a frost advisory is now in effect from Fredericksburg south to #RVA and Emporia, west to Roanoke through tomorrow morning. After which, temperatures will climb quickly into the weekend and next week.

We'll see another dramatic swing in temperatures coming next week as this cooler air mass moves away and is replaced with 60s for lows and upper 80s/low 90s for highs. Dry weather will continue for another two weeks, possibly longer.

Want to reiterate that the only concern about a freeze mid-week is going to be for areas west of Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway; #RVA should stay in the upper 30s.

Storm Prediction Center says there’s a slight risk of some damaging wind gusts this afternoon with any isolated storms that might pop up as a cold front crosses the region, mostly along and east of I-95. Otherwise, not expecting strong storms for the most part. Sharply cooler early week.

Showers will arrive today from northwest to southeast from about noon onward, helping clean the air of very high pollen levels, at least for a day or two. Temps near freezing tomorrow morning but the cold will be short-lived, as 80s return by the middle of the week.
