This. Wii Virtual Console (3DS also as it was the same deal: buy games individually) was great. I've barely used Switch Virtual Console and dropped the subscription. Can't say I've missed it.

Okay just saw the subscriber count - yeah you might need to look beyond Ghost; that can get expensive w/more subscribers. I don't have a lot of experience with Beehiiv but have also heard mostly good things about them.

Also not to seem like I'm trying to sell you on Ghost/MagicPages but I will note that when I had a minor issue w/setting the newsletter up the guy who runs MagicPages was really responsive, Jannis is his name and I believe he's based in Austria if I remember right.

I found out about MagicPages specifically via a journalism Slack group I'm in when I was saying Ghost seemed like the best option but was way out of my budget and someone recommended Magic Pages which still cost but was workable for me on the most basic plan and for one-year.

Yes for hosting it, but it doesn't have to be monthly. I'm on the cheapest annual plan which is less than $70. I do have paid subscriptions for my newsletter but not many subscribers (yet) and have made back the price for the annual plan already and I'm only a few months in.

(For what it's worth my newsletter is small and I'm on the cheapest possible MagicPages pricing tier if your newsletter is going to be larger and likely on a higher pricing tier other options may be more budget friendly)

Ghost via MagicPages still costs some money but is much more affordable. I think I checked out Beehiiv but it was outside my budget from what I remember or there was some other aspect that didn't fit my needs.

I am seeing that Mitchell & Ness not only has throwback WNBA jerseys but that one of them is a Tamika Catchings jersey. Very tempted to snap one up if they don't sell out too fast.

Kinda figured that, just was noting I've done it but not necessarily in the "stupid bait post" way and I think I manage to not follow the people who are terrible about that stuff on either platform.

I confess I'll sometimes post the same thing on both platforms but usually that's when I make a big thread addressing something like "hey W fans can we be not-toxic for 10 minutes" and the same post applies to both platforms at times, alas.

I don't like Adam Silver. I can't control that he's the commissioner so I don't waste my breath complaining. Same principle.

8. I am loud, proud & supportive of my teams. I was a band geek & my favorite part of band was pep band. I joined pep band asap (7th grade at my school growing up). I did not have school spirit in any other sense but put me at a basketball game & I was the peppiest pep band kid you ever saw.

7a. This means I really truly do not care what anyone in the W said/did to anyone else during a game in college.

7. I don't really follow college hoops. If I've heard of a college player it's either b/c 1. everyone & their dog has heard of them or 2. They play for IU & the rest of my family are hyping them b/c my extended fam are all IU people.

6. If you like drama more than hoops, please go watch the Kardashians or whatever the modern equivalent to Jersey Shore is.
