Receipt from the charity bowl for $32.02

As a proud Financially Minuscule alum of the University of Michigan, allow my $31.20 donation to remind everyone that even in a marred and crappy football season, Sparty still went down in a heap.

Great idea, and I can think of one school everyone already wants to support!

What's worse, forgetting to go to work . . . or remembering?

Ah, what a nice reminder of this guy, who was having a great time at that game.

Paul Revere bought his wife a diamond ring, and at the time diamonds were deliberately cut to sparkle extra beautifully by candlelight.

I don't know how to tag in the romance writers on this site, but they might like to know.

Let's sum up Trump's tariffs.

1) They were illegal and also corrupt and arbitrary.
2) They did real damage to economy, esp farmers, small business.
3) Lutnick cheerled them while his spawn prepared to $$.
4) Corps (& some small businesses) finally getting refunds.
5) Consumers will get squat.

Nothing is monocausal, lotta ins, lotta outs, but one of the main drivers of "economy bad all the time now", perceived or real, are the constant overlapping campaigns of outright theft by name brand companies.

Amazon, Hanes, Levis, and so many more: you are all fucking thieves.

Highly enjoyable thread on the red supplement man's reaction to the new Infowars.

Raw schadenfreude, like maple syrup right from the tree

*going back in time 15 years to warn myself about the future*

“The president is an open pedophile. Over a million Americans died from a plague. Pasta sauce is recording people’s conversations!”

“Haha ok sure where did you hear that, InfoWars?”

“INFOWARS IS GOOD NOW!”

A lady duck eating seed from a small dish on my patio while the green headed mallard watches.

We live across the street from the river and a park; so this time of year we get lots of duck couples on the patio who come up looking for food.

The lady ducks generally eat first, then when she's done, the mallard will scarf whatever he can before she waddles too far away. It's impossibly cute.

I've been on Team No Bush/No Sept 11 since the morning after the Axis of Evil speech when my Dad and I were wondering why people liked it.

Covid I'm less sure, Clinton could have handled it perfectly, kept deaths to like 50k, and Trump and the media would have still called it a disaster.

The kind of thing a divorce attorney only sees once or twice in a career, pure butter in public.

Agreed, only late hail mary would have been for Obama to go scorched Earth with Russia stuff in 2016, take the fight with McConnell, and let the chips fall where they may.

But even if Clinton squeeks it out, she's got no Congressional majorites and Trump looms until covid. 2010 set a bad course.

Given how easily Trump rolled through the nominating process, by 2015 I think it's too late. Might have been doomed after 2010. Gerrymandering kept the House red in 2012, admin is paralyzed from legislation after that, then all the Rs have to do is sabotage.

Lock up the Bushies for war crimes, lock up the bankers for fraud, pass an actually big enough economic package in Jan 09 and . . . maybe?

Lotta reasons that didn't hapoen, including unprecented Republican opposition and a very hostile media environment, but it wasn't impossible.

“My understanding of Harvard’s orientation towards its research was that it was a PR measure to limit both publicity and legal liability,” DeAngelis said. “My job was not to use all of my skills as a historian to uncover the historical truth. My role was to hold down a desk that allowed Harvard to mislead the press about how serious they were about making reparations and confronting centuries of profiting from slavery.”

Condensed Game: KC@DET - 4/16/26 | 04/16/2026 Condensed Game: Salvador Perez and the Royals take on Colt Keith and the Tigers on April 16, 2026

I bet the sports app covered this live, but it was new to me on the Tigers condensed game that the home plate ump got the shits **in the 3rd & the 7th**! For his clenched jogs back from the dugout, see:

Not my main problem this morning, but I would feel better issuing a hearty and full throated FUCK YOU to the designer who first used "Remind Me Later" as the only decline option for things websites/software/apps shouldn't be asking me in the first place.

I hope bad things happen to you.
