This Data Center Is Getting a $77 Million Tax Break to Create One Job No other project in the country has gotten such a large subsidy to create so few jobs, according to watchdogs.

A New Jersey data center will reportedly receive $77 million in tax breaks — while only creating one permanent job.

One job, in exchange for higher utility bills, noise pollution, and potential groundwater pollution.

Is it any wonder communities are organizing to stop data centers?

Haunted by ‘Dark Thoughts,’ Louisiana Father Kills 8 Children

If this man had murdered eight strangers the story would lead every news outlet. But because they are his children, it's "family violence," "domestic violence" -- undeserving of the same attention. Even though this violence is much more common

The richest 10% of Americans own roughly 87% of stocks.

The richest 1% alone own roughly half of all stocks.

It's worth pointing out once again that the stock market is not the economy.

Every member of Congress should be asked the following:

If Eric Swalwell and Tony Gonzales should be forced out of office because of credible allegations of sexual misconduct, shouldn't Congress also remove Donald Trump as he has already been found liable by a jury for sexual assault?

A WHOLE CIVILIZATION
WILL DIE TONIGHT
My son needs lunch, and I have to put his backpack together, but a whole civilization will die tonight, so I'm wondering if they've closed their schools.
Like, a snow day, maybe, except instead of snow it's
"keep your children home so if you die, you die together" — instead of "well open back up once the plows have cleared" it's
"we don't know if we'll be here tomorrow, hold your babies tight."
It's just "talk" I'm told, which I've been told before.
"It's how the president makes his deals." But I've never heard anyone talk about other human beings this way, and I'm not certain I can look my son in the eyes if we all agree to stomach it one more time.
A civilization will die tonight, but as I zip up his backpack and kiss him off to school I think: if this is what we call leadership then I'm not entirely sure ours isn't already dead.

BREAKING: Trump announces two week window for Congress to remove him from office

Are any members of Congress currently on their way back to DC?

Just because a President announces he’s agreed to a two week ceasefire moments before he threatened to commit war crimes, does not mean he is suddenly fit to serve. #25thAmendment

2 weeks ago 35337 7794 1413 370

I also feel like the Dems could be IN WASHINGON, publicly demanding the Cabinet invoke the 25th. Get out there, make a fuss, stir shit up, call for an impeachment vote while you're at it. Johnson be damned. Not just posting about how they are kinda upset.

I guess vacations matter more?

The President is openly threatening genocide. A crime against humanity. He must be removed from office.

The 25th Amendment must be invoked. If not, Congress has to do our damn job. Speaker Johnson, call us into session. War powers & impeachment. Remove this man from office.

“A whole civilization will die tonight” is the most vile thing a US president has ever said, certainly during the post-1945 era when they’ve had the power to kill civilizations with the dropping of a bomb. I’m staring into the darkness. May this not be one of the most fateful days in human history.

Pete Hegseth’s broker reportedly tried to make a multimillion-dollar investment in a fund of weapons stocks just weeks before Trump launched his war on Iran.

Remember when even the appearance of corruption was enough to trigger a resignation?

There should be a law: when an elected official announces a change of party, there should immediately be a new election. And while I'm at it, we should have a mechanism to remove via a no confidence vote any elected official in whom the electorate has lost faith.

$200 billion a year would enable a universal basic income of about $500/mo. That would essentially abolish severe poverty in America. Poverty would drop by about a third, and because the downstream costs of poverty are about $3 TRILLION a year, that would be a return on investment of $800B a year.
